I've heard rumblings of Clemson and Louisville with Va Tech next in line and Miami/FSU/Ga Tech bringing up the rear.

You gotta think Clemson would be up there bc of the overall strength of their AD

If Alabama and Auburn move to the East, how screwed are we?

Alabama
Auburn
Florida
Georgia
Kentucky
South Carolina
Tennessee
Vanderbilt

That could be pretty close to the standings if you knock Kentucky below Tennessee....

U had me til the last sentence

What about this for 14 teams? Go to a North and South instead of east and west if OU and A&M come in. I would rather leave Oklahoma out and add a Clemson or V Tech.

The North will be Arkansas, Vandy, Kentucky, Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia, Oklahoma

The South will be Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU, MSU, Ole Miss and A&M.

Uh, give me the south every year..I don't think those r very even at all

I think that we would pick up a team for the East. Possibly Clemson, Georgia Tech, or FSU. All 3 of those teams have a major rival in the SEC. (USC, UGa, and UF). FSU is my pick. Any thoughts?

You know what, let's make this a joke thread! (we already have like two big ones about the aTm addition in the NCAA forum)

I think only one would move. Maybe they would be ok with Auburn shifting.

Of all the ideas that have been thrown out, this is my absolute far and away least favorite.

If only Auburn shifts, we lose the Third Saturday in October. And that's not okay.

that could feasibly work regardless of whether the team came from east or west of the conference....though i wouldn't be surprised if it went nothing like such

also not expecting OU

Let's put Vandy on the trade block to the ACC. I'll take a Vandy for VT or Miami. It works out for both schools--basketball and football.

Yeah, everyone wants to be in conference where one team is hogging the revenue. Sign me up for that!

Then we can call those looking for a more even opportunity rejects like their programs suck all while making sweeping generalizations about a state the size of Texas.
Is the SEC the welfare state that has to take in all of the castoffs from every other conference that is butt hurt? Sorry but it ain't the SEC's fault they are in the situation they are in. Bring something to the table or head to Conference USA.

I hate to say it, but Bama, Florida, and LSU all in one division might be even worse than Bama, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee all in one division.

Yeeeeeeaaaah. I'm sure that'll happen. In order to be remotely plausible/acceptable, you have to keep the Iron Bowl, 3SIO, and Georgia/Barn. Which is actually non-trivial.

well we could take Ole piss. no one would miss them except msu. Work with me incipient... damn

I feel like a 4 division conference w/ 16 is in the future.

While this (or something like it) makes things much more complicated, it opens up a whole array of possible solutions, and is thus probably the best plan going forward.

OU vs Oklahomas State will survive like UGa vs GT survived....or like FSU vs UF...or USC vs Clemson. OSU has plenty of oil money from T. Boone and OU can expand their revenue base by jumping. They don't need to hold OSU's hand.

Ok Shift bamma. Fluff the UGA Barn show down.

I think it's better to think about shifting one of the Miss schools (they're really not as heavily tied)

You could put them east with little lost

that or push both Miss/Miss st east (or one could argue both Bama/Barn east) and force vandy (also weak on rivalry ties to everyone not tennessee) west.
