If Alabama loses what does that do for the Vols playoff picture wise?

That's not the rules. Four highest conf champions is the rules

The four power conf champions all get a bid, but not guaranteed a bye. Ariz state would be the 12 seed rn according to the rules. They would need to finish higher than Boise to get the 4
This does not jive. All of the CFB projected brackets have Boise St at 4 with a bye which would never be possible based on their ranking. They have never been ranked 4th all year.

The top 4 conference champs all get a bye. So that's either going to be ASU or Boise St

Either one doesn't change the math for Tennessee because both are ranked below Tennessee and based on that (right now) Tennessee would not host a game unless Georgia lost the SECCG and dropped below us in the rankings.

Because the top four conf champions get byes, not the top 4 teams.

Oregon
Miami
Texas
Boise St are the top four ranked conf champions

The highest big12 team is ariz state at 15

You and I may be saying the same thing from different directions

Yeah sounds like it

There is no reason to believe that more crazy upsets will not occur in the next two weeks. I believe UT will be hosting if they beat Vandy.
