That would really suck if Texas and Texas A&M had to play each other in 2 straight weeks.

It’s not possible anymore now that A&M lost to Auburn, but under the scenario that A&M had won, it’d pretty much go to

(1) Needing Tennessee to beat Vanderbilt

(2) Needing LSU to beat Oklahoma

And that looks like it would have been it/done it and had the two Texas teams play each other in back to back weeks.

As of now we look to be traveling back to Athens to play Georgia in the playoffs. We need Texas to lose to Georgia again. Maybe Texas even needs lose to A&M to avoid that circus tent in Athens, where the people woof and the refs perform magic with their flags.

We can move up with a loss from Notre Dame, Texas, Georgia, Penn State, or Ohio State next week. Maybe if Georgia or Texas loses in the SEC Championship it rearranges things.

I don’t think TN will move ahead of Notre Dame or Penn State on SOS. Anywhere but Athens though. I would mind going to Happy Valley to whip Rape State. A game in South Bend doesn’t seem as scary as the refs in Athens.

Likely but they will be in the bottom 4 now aka they won’t be hosting a playoff game like they were slated to coming into this week. With that scenario and a Bama loss, that means two teams replace Bama/Indiana as hosting teams for first round. That would mean Rocky Top hosts a playoff game.
