Wouldn't be a home run hire. Will recruits line up just at the mention of his name? No. No big hire....not buying tickets...not buying UT sports stuff...not going to the games.

Race plays absolutely no factor in my sub-par excitement with Strong as a head coach. The fact is that Tennessee needs a homerun hire and Strong is not that. Neither are Golden and Fisher, who are caucasion.

I wanted Gruden, until I realised Charlie Strong, like Terrell Owens, speaks of himself in the third person, "Charlie Strong represents Charlie Strong!". Strong, SOON!

Who cares what color he is. Its 2012...nobody gives a crap. He is just not the big time coach that UT needs and deserves.

Let me put it like this: I have been a huge fan of Martin since the time we hired him because I think he's a great leader. The last time I checked...he was black. Therefore I am confident that it is not racist for me to say I DON'T WANT CHARLIE STRONG! He was 14-12 his first two years at Louisville and I think they were extremely fortunate this year as they could easily be 8-4 or even 7-5...in the BIG EAST.

I would take Sumlin OR Shaw over him everyday and twice on sunday...He is a terrible recruiter...That much is proven...#73 recruiting class this season...I guess that doesn't give you much cause for concern does it?

There are very few players, if any, who would commit to UT "only" because of a black HC.

That being said, people tend to choose to associate with people with whom they can relate...for marriage, for friendship, for work, education, religion, etc. It's not exactly racist for someone to subconsciously favor a coach of the same race, ceterus peribus.

I think him being black makes him a better candidate.most of our impact players will be black and I think this gives strong an advantage.
