If Cheney has a great game

It is Chaney, not Cheney. I don't think it is too much to expect someone to spell the name of a coach that has been here for the past two regimes is too hard to ask, yet multiple people in this thread have managed to butcher it.

Gruden has contacted Bassacia and Ron Zook. He is interested big time. Looks like he is putting together a college staff. Anyone else heard anything more about this. #1 candidate

No other than the Basillo show strongly eluding that he had already been hired by us without directly saying his name

Nope. saw whole game. no such thing happened. Thank goodness. Ar Kansas has a very different list than UT for some reason. I heard that Petrino's name is officially in play(for the UT job). That is extremely disappointing. Ark is going after Patterson hardcore

Patrino is going to Ky. Tn wouldn't touch him for several reasons. The main being he is notorious for leaving programs in ruins

Not a chance on Chaney. I think it's too late for Spurrier. It would have been a bit of a love-hate thing on both sides, but I think he could have done great things here if we had gotten him when Fulmer was fired. I think deep-down he would have been flattered to be offered.

Spurrier is on tape a few years ago (maybe during Dooley hiring/search) that yes he would have been interested in the UT job several years ago (e.g. when he left the Redskins) but would not be at this point and was pretty much saying at this point and with his age etc that rebuilding SC and hopefully having some success there would be his last stop.

Think it was a question during a press conf at USCe

Nothing against Chaney but we'd be better served to get rid of all current staff with the exception of Jay Graham and start completely over. Up ticket prices to help get the AD back financially sound and let's move on from this experience.

Quit yankin my Chaney!

I'm not oppossed to Chaney coming back as OC as long as new coach wants him. But Graham should stay and don't forget the wonderful job Pittman has done with the O-Line, especially improving run blocking.

Peterson, Patterson, Chucky or Strong. Don't settle for less!

I wouldn't mind to see him come back as OC either, watched his interview yesterday and I was impressed with him. Seems like a class act. Wish him well whatever happens.

Def need to keep Graham and Pittman

I'm not opposed to Chaney either but the new coach probably will be. I like Chaney. I haven't had a problem with anything he's done here. He, Pittman, & Graham apparently know how to get a offense to move. You know how new coaches are. They like their own people.

If CJC beats Ky 387-0, kicks Ky's coach square in the balls at midfield, disrobes every single Ky female cheerleader in front of God and everybody else AND shoots the wildcat mascot dead while singing Rocky Top he will still be unemployed come Monday morning....

Wrong, no matter what happens this weekend he will still be employed on monday and will remain employed until the new coach is hired in order to try and hold the recruiting class together

I would thank him for at least one of those things though...

I will weigh in and say I don't mind Chaney as the OC coming back. Although he will have then survived two coaching changes, but he has done a great job this year IMO. There are those who disagree, but the same folks seem to be mad at the OC no matter who it is.

To answer the OP...IF he does well against Kentucky.

If we win 100 to 0, then I agree. Make him head coach.
