If Clemson beats SMU does SMU still get in...

and if so at what seeding? That could really screw up the standings.
I was just looking at the chaos if Clemson, UNLV, and Georgia win. Does Penn State drop below OSU if they lose? Where would Texas drop? Could not put Georgia behind them in the rankings.

Yes, and we want them to. It would “screw up the standings” for one team: Alabama.
I know I’m beating a dead horse here, but that’s all that matters to me. It infuriates me to no end how the Gumps can get even the slightest of a second chance to make a run. Take care of your sh*t during the season, why does that not seem to count for them in this scenario?

No. I think they just showed us that the ACC is a one bid league by what they did to Miami.

Not sure what seed. But if they keep it close and lose, I think they get in over the Bammers.

But who knows. If they want Bama in, Bama will get in.

Clemson would probably end up being the 5th highest rank conference champ, so seeded 12th

It could go either way, but honestly I’d drop SMU below Bama because they haven’t beat anyone with more than 8 wins and if they lose to Clemson they will have proven that they can’t beat anyone with more than 8 wins. Bama has beat Georgia, Missouri, South Carolina, and LSU. All better than Clemson.

As of tonight the committee is saying SMU is better than bama. Regardless of outcome how could they be worse for having to play an extra game while bama sits at home?

Which would be weird if they kept smu in and seeded higher.
It would indeed. It would be a hard decision to rank SMU above Bama after a L to Clemson. A loss probably means SMU is ranked no better than 12th, so basically out of the playoff picture

After all they’ve said I’m not sure how they would justify it but I wouldn’t put it past them for sure.
