If I See This At Game Start, I'm Good...

With a 10 Utah State will probably go man; with an 11 they will probably go cover 1. If they are cover 1, I believe that Worley will make the read. Even If Worley throws into double coverage, I think that our receivers will make the play.

I don't understand this terminology, can you throw out some Madden screenshots?:)

Not sure if it will matter much to the Utah D. They are going to blitz as much as possible. And I hope they do. Lane can block and from what I have heard, Hurd is also excellent at picking up the speed man.

The depends on the site that you googled.

I've coached the game for nearly a decade and am currently writing a book on the topic of match zone coverage, but continue making a fool of yourself.

If we come out with a 10 personnel grouping or 11 with the tight end in the slot position, it will be a blow out (in our favor).

This configuration will force Utah State to go into man defense; if this happens, our big receivers should dominate the Utah State secondary.

Go Vols!

You've still not answered my question. Why do you believe they will play man to man against 10 personnel?

V8 can you dumb down what split back veer means?

Think of the old split back formation west coast teams used to run. Veer is just an option play. When I moved to nc in 08, Grainger county high was still running it. Few teams use it now for a number of reasons.

Make sure you don't mix up the red and black wires. :)

With 10 and 11 personnel groupings couldn't you just stay in cover 2 and drop the mike lb in coverage. I tend to agree with the op that this would give USU fits with our wideouts but for the sake of arguing this zone could work, no?

The veer is what Bobby Bowden ran when he coached at West Virginia

The reason this thread is so stupid is because you can play any coverage against 10 or 11 personnel.

And if the formation is 10 or 11 personnel trips bunch, you can be almost 100% certain they won't play man to man against us.

Your point is?

We talking football now; if you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen, or go google something.

Guess OP couldn't take the heat.

He came in talking out of his ass. Then tried to be a prick to a mod for no reason, and left the conversation when he realized his entire premise of "forcing them to play man" made no sense.

I've been toying with a 03 package. It would be used out of the gun and we would mainly run jet sweep from it, and then try to hit qb trap back inside. And combine each play with a slant to hold the backside.

Could run anything. Cover 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 anything.

They are a man team, with short CB's. Worley and our all star receivers should be taking advantage of it, and put this game away early. Then let Lane/Hurd run out the clock while busting 100yds each.
