If Ok St wins I guess Bama can't win title # 87

Of course you don't because it is Alabama. If it was tn you would think totally differently, but that is ok. The SEC is the best conference , and either way, the SEC will win the NC again this year. I don't see ut in this picture anytime soon. Alabama will be in a BCS bowl, and ut will be at home. So all is good.

That's not true, if we would have been in your position, I would say we had our shot and blew it.

Prove that statement.

It was a comment directed at Oklahoma in 2003. I can find a direct link , but it's not worth my time proving anything to you. Napoleon said it. Be realistic , he has said alot of **** that only applies when it's in his favor.

Let me ask you a question. LSU doesn't care who they play. If the situation was reversed , how would you feel? Honestly. Why would Alabama have to beat a team twice to prove they are the champs? In my opinion , you all would be begging for OSU.

Dude GTFO. Bama needs a rematch with LSU about as much as Georgia Southern needs one with the tide. That wishbone is tricky ain't it! I hope Bama gets a mudhole stomped in their ass in the Sugar Bowl. Wish there was some way G Southern could sneak in and get their rematch tho.

Honestly why should LSU even have to play another game? I feel like they have proven enough. To get through their schedule they way they did is some feat.

And how would you know that LSU doesn't care who they play? Key to that is " in my opinion".

based on the convo so far, he'd also likely be arguing the reverse

however though, if he's going to call you out on "you don't want it because he's alabama" then there at least needs to be some acceptance on his part that part of the reason this turn out is fine/okay/dandy to him is because it's creates opportunity for a team he likes (one they can benefit from)

It'd be hard too. Wasn't there a BCS rule implied once that you can't just run up the score on teams to get in the championship like we actually had to do in '98? Tell me if I'm wrong, but Bama might just be there to stay to the fustration of the Cowboys...

Who did we run the score up on that was worth a d*mn in 1998?

Didn't Brandon Stewart and Edgerin James have more to do with us getting to the Fiesta Bowl than a measly blowout win over Vanderbilt?

Hell, give it to LSU if OSU is #2. LSU has an argument for a split title regardless of what happens in the NC game.

Cool, glad you finally came around. It might be a cool game to watch for a while though. OSU and LSU.

Two conference champs going at it anyway.

Tennessee was already holding #1 pretty firmly by then. The Miami upset of UCLA most likely really did little much more than determine who Tennessee would play

Also, Fulmer was actually quoted on us running up the score on UAB (that might be the example or instance he's remembering) and talking about doing it in order to maintain the ranking (i think i remember something along the lines of him saying because they weren't really sure how exactly the new system worked and what it would take for them to be sure they would maintain their ranking)...it's somewhere in the SI National championship book from that year

The only way to compare apples to apples is to have Bama play a game against this years Florida team in the swamp having just had tragedy dumped in their lap. We forget about the off the field circumstances surrounding OSU's loss to ISU. The only litmus test here for voters is the fact that OSU has won it's conference and Bama didn't. I am a SEC fan but anything else would be seen nationally as SEC bias. This will hurt some people's feeling but in the end that will be the logic that will compel voters to vote OSU to the NATIONAL (note national) championship game. Everything is regional bias.

Another thing to note is that the whole state of Alabama needs to be put on suicide watch.
