If our OL cannot protect well this year ...

Hold the phone dude, best go look at my track history before pointing that stupid finger at me. This team is doing better than I thought they would in all honesty. It's ignorant to lump me in with any group becuase I think the line is what they are right now.
Where’d you catch that bass? How much did it weigh…. Looks like a hawg

Karic only played 5 games in 2023. He played 4, then barely any of the 5th before getting injured and not playing again. That will be the basis for his appeal to get a medical redshirt. I think based on past cases, he has a pretty good chance to win it and be back next year.

Portal fixes all. People will want to block for Nico. For the right price of course

Pretty sure every CFB team in the country will grab every good O linemen they can.

Most in the portal are there for a reason-no playing time, etc.

Best chance we have is opening the checkbook to some top flight G5 linemen and even that is a gamble.

Use the TALENT instead of going with “trust”. Nothing to hate about Dayne Davis, but I’m so glad he’s retiring after 60 years on the job. Max Anderson, Gage Ginther, Bennett Warren and Jeremias Heard would be highly pursued in the portal…quit ensuring they enter it. Satterwhite and Perry are already guaranteed starters next season imo. Why give Cheney State’s former 0 star a NIL deal? Big champion of Ellarbee, but this modus needs to begin now.

Sort of why I brought it up (modus needs to begin now). Almost any sport one cares to look at a requirement of success is you must be strong up the middle. Losing Spraggins AND Mays will not be a quick nor easy fix IMO. I hope I'm way off but head says I'm dead on the money.

Hate to say it, but OL seems to be the place where we excel the least. It was also the problem last year. You have to wonder if it's the players or someone else.

I think (with hope)‘it’ll be an improvement. Comfort zones powered by extra Covid seasons, have led to a rut.

Don’t sleep on Perry and Warren either.
Absolutely. I’ve mentioned them a few times. Between Warren, Perry, and LJ3, we should not only have a solid RT among them in 2025, but also solid depth. Heard will be the starter at LT and Sanders will likely be 2nd string. That leaves Sham, Ginther, Anderson, Bussell, and maybe Karic (if he wins a medical RS appeal) at the Guard spots. And Satterwhite at Center.

There’s a lot of new faces there, but a lot of talent, as well. The ceiling is higher for next year’s OLine, but the floor is also probably lower.

Hopefully the oline next year is like this year’s secondary (or cornerbacks at least).

I think the whole secondary got better, including the Safeties. They had a bad game against Georgia, but have been good all year. The CBs are night and day better.

One positive that folks have forgotten about next year’s secondary…not only do we return all starters (and backups) except Will Brooks, but we bring back Jourdan Thomas. Given that Boo is becoming a star at the, um, Star position, it’s almost certain that Thomas will move back to Safety. I’d expect him to start there. That’ll add more speed and athleticism to the back end.

No offense to the kid, but I hope he's simply a depth piece next year.
