If Tennessee wins, biggest upset in Vol Football history

That was the loudest I ever heard the stadium in 1982 at the Bama game. It only seated 91,249 at the time, and I have had season tickets through the 110,000 people games, but I thought Neyland my fall in 1982. Everyone at the Worlds Fair ran to the end of the fair where the stadium was. It was awesome.

Agree. I still get chills thinking about the crowd noise when UT ran through the Power T in all orange, and then when Davis fumbled on the first play from scrimmage. The building was shaking.

I’ve never understood why that line was so big. They were #2 and we were #4.
The previous weeks struggles at UK were part of it but I think most was the streak at the Swamp and just how UT struggled so much usually against Florida. It still doesn’t make much sense, but that’s the rationale if I recall.

General Neyland's 1959 win over #1 LSU was a huge one, too. We stopped LSU's Heisman halfback Billy Cannon's 2-point conversion attempt, and LSU's 19-game winning streak and national championship hopes were buried in Knoxville. We carried the fight to our opponent and kept it there for 60 minutes!

I wasn’t alive, but reading this gave me goosebumps! I’m ready to make history today.

1959 vs LSU and Billy Cannon ?

I know 3-4 LSU fans who bizarrely thought the legendary game vs Ole Miss that occurred the week before was actually in 58 and that LSU won the championship. Little known fact, after getting beat in Knoxville, LSU got a rematch with OM in the Sugar Bowl and got beat.

I don’t remember that. I remember we held our breath every time he touched the ball. We did get in a fight with Auburn fans on the way out of the stadium. 😎
Took himself out of the game with a bruised knee.

82 Bama game
85 Auburn
85/6 Miami

03 at Miami, on paper this one doesn't stand out (#17 vs #6), but we were not supposed to compete against a loaded Miami team that was a favorite for the Natl Championship

Win or loose doesn’t change the fact that last Sat evening I swore I was done watching games then only 6 days later, I think this team might beat Ga. And I see no problem with that
