I was at that game. South end zone lower bowl.

West side lower bowl for me. We made a beeline for the field and the north goal post right after Terry's INT. I don't even remember them playing the last 17 seconds.

Vol Hoops beat #1 Kansas in 2010 by 10 with only 6 scholarship players only a week after 4 players were suspended Tyler Smith Big Baby Goins and Tatum from the team. The Vols went on to the elite 8 that year but That was a pretty massive upset at that point in the season.

Lot of big upsets through the years.

The game today against 10-0 UGa has vibes of our big upset win over 10-0 Penn State to end season at Neyland in 1971. Penn State had won 15 straight games and complaining because they were not ranked #1. They were strong favorites against our 8-2 Vols.
PSU had #1 offense in country and Vols had strong defense. The entire Majors family was honored, and the youngest Bobby Majors had huge day getting a punt return for a TD along with several big returns, both kick off and punt. Also kicked punts for Vols.
Vols had two pick 6’s as well, one by all American, Jackie Walker. Vols up 31-3 with 6 minutes left. Against our subs PSU scored a meaningless TD for final score of 31-11. Was my last game as a student; and it was fantastic.

my 1st game as an alum was opening game at Neyland in 1972 again against PSU. Vols dominated early and held on to win again 28-21.

long shot….but could Vols do something similar to 1971 game today?

Sugar Vols for me and not even close..Vol fans expected a win but NOBODY in national media, or anybody else really, gave UT a chance..But Dale Jones Daryl Dickey and company handled their business and then some..Jimmy Johnson and Vinny Testaverde were shell shocked..And I LOVED it!!!
