Alright I have read and listened to enough bashers without speaking my mind. That is about to change. If you people think you know SOOOO much then why are you sitting behind the computer and not an AD at some college? I will be honest I wasn't the happiest person when I heard who our hire was, but I am a VFL and I am going to support CBJ all the way. I am aware that opinions are like rear ends and everyone has one, but sometimes it's taken a little too far. I am a student at UT and I can probably say I have more invested in this than most of you unless your related or close friends to a coach or player. If you have a negative opinion, then do the Vols a favor and don't type it for the world to see. I am 100% certain that maybe not all, but a portion of parents of future players check these message boards and I personally wouldn't want a child to play for a fan base that's all in one minute and lacking support the next. If you feel the best thing for you is to not attend games next season then don't go. That's your right as a citizen, but don't bash the team or coaches before you even see the product that is displayed on the field. I am ALL VOL and I hope you are as well. GO VOLS!

The folks that are out-right bashing BJ and sending him ugly tweets are certainly in the wrong. But, please don't lump those of us who express concerns over this hire into the "bashers" category. Cautiously optimistic is the best way to be right now.

While I fully support CBJ, I really hate the argument of "if you're so smart, how come you're not an AD/coach somewhere". It just makes no sense and is really juvenile.

I will never disagree that I am not juvenile from time to time. But, I am not your 21 year old college student. I am 31 and feel very confident in that statement. I didn't necessarily mean it childishly, but in the matter that we don't have all the info the AD does and we have to trust that he made the best decision for us unless info comes out to state otherwise.

Either support Coach Jones or shut up with your negativity. Coach Jones must be doing something right he turned down three jobs to take the Tennessee job. Mark it down he will do great. Please give him a chance he has only been here 48 hours. Support Coach Jones & Tennessee Vols or find another team to bash. The more I read on Coach Jones the more excited I get. He wanted this job that makes a difference.

I am not happy about this hire... but I am a Vol, and will always be. I think this is an insult when we are told we have the best job open this year... and we hire a coach from Cinn who could not beat a Dooley coached team (the worse coach in the modern Tennessee footaball era)

But any attack, either by bashing on the internet, or sending tweets to him are all uncalled for.

I am a Vol but BJ will have to win me over, and it will begin with hiring his so-called best staff in the Nation and recruiting

Color me........... wait and see

Simple solution for you that I have been using much since CBJ was announced coach. Right hand corner is the ignore key for the poster that you find irritating. Just hit that.

Actually, it makes complete sense.

No, because the premise of the argument is that unless you actually served in xyz role, you have no right to critique the person in xyz role. Really? So I can't be critical of Obama because I've never been POTUS? Ridiculous.

To be fair he did not turn those jobs down so he could get to Tennessee.... The Tennessee job was being offered to two other coaches before he turned it down.

He was offered a job at Colo. and last time I checked it does not hold same level of respect as playing in the SEC.

My concerns do not make me negative, they make me honest. I want to know when our coach enters a living room to talk to a player that he can go head to head with Saban, Miles etc. That is what he MUST do to be successful, as well as on the field. Although he may be a good man and prove to be a great coach.....Nothing in his resume indicates that when you are being honest.

Again...I will support this team and be where I have always been when the kickoff comes...but I will remain sceptic till he proves to me otherwise..I HOPE He does

You need not worry this board does not reflect the School by any means, if it did it would pretty bad. I'm sure about 1/10 of the posters on here doesn't even go to games or understand FOOTBALL. Give the guy a couple years, stand behind him and maybe just maybe he will become a good coach. The last two programs he took over were doing well when he got them and he didn't regress with either. So we get to see if he can come into a program and fix what's broken. Good luck

No it doesn't, how many AD jobs are out there? How many people would want that pressure cooker job? It also was childish. He or she got butthurt and didn't think before he or she spoke. Shouldn't put people down until you know what he can do and can't be to thin skinned about other people not thinking he's the best hire.

I really appreciate your youthful optimistic view. Very good time in life college. Its a thing that you will figure out with age that if you let people treat you like crap they will continue to. That's what is going on here. If we all grab or pom poms and sing rocky top all night long this will continue. If enough of us beat the drum demand a good product Tennessee administration will be forced to get it right or get out of the way. There is a lot of I hope, I think, I wish CBJ does good and thats the problem with this hire.

What sense does it make? Only bigtime college ad's are allowed to have an opinion on a coach a university hires for their football team? Screw that, anybody that wants to express their opinion is welcome to do so up in here.

Oh and as far as why I an not a AD? Based on Dave Hart has done. I am apparently extremely over qualified.

Relax man, I was just saying that the statement "if you have it so figured out, then why don't you do the job", does indeed, have relevance. I never said that people couldn't have an opinion in my 6 word sentence.

we'll see where we are at in a year or two, the fact that I have to say that means that this was a sub-par hire.

Agree 100% Brother. Been saying this since day 1. The man deserves a chance to prove himself and has shown nothing but class and the desire to get UT back on top. I really like him alot and have full trust that he will fix the mess left by the ones that came before him. He wanted the job and doesnt deserve to be $hita on like some fans have. Most UT fans are passionate, classy and great fans. There is no more passionate fans that Vol Fans. But that small group that has done nothing but embarass themselves and make the rest of us look like a bunch of damn rednecks. Far as I'm concerned that group can go be the bammers and bash UT in harmony. For the rest of us we will support and pull for the Vols like we have been raised to do and do it with class. CBJ seems to have "it" and im proud to call him our coach. Nothing but great things are ahead for the ones willing to stick it out and trust him. Go Vols!!

Unfortunately, VN is a public forum that reflects negative fan views of UT athletics. But, it also reflects positive fan views, and with anything like this, the upset people are the ones who post most. Fact is---no matter who was hired as coach, even the GRUDE, there would be some who would post negative threads. Even when posting negative threads, all VN should make it clear that they support Coach Jones and the team.

Actually whats juvenile is blowing the mans twitter up before he is even introduced and ones continuining to bash him and he has done nothing wrong but take the best job in college.
