No - I honor him as a VFL but Tony was a loser - awesome on the field but once he got hurt and turned to drugs, he made all the wrong choices - dont need that kind of person on the team - he had some bad breaks for sure but he made the worst of them.

We need a QB so badly - agreed Peyton would not be ideal pick for this offense style but nobody could captain a team better. Reggie White tho, ahhhh, to have some D in the SEC would be a change of pace.
I don't care what he did after his career with the Vols was over, he was one of the best QBs we've ever had. Hell Leonard Little, Travis Henry, Donte Stallworth, and Dwayne Goodrich have all made some very bad choices in life, but I'd gladly take any of them back as a player.

With this offense, yeah Tony Robinson in his prime.

Robinson was skinny and gangly and would not have been a great fit for Butch's offense. Tony was a drop back passer with a great arm an ability to move around but not a great runner nor would he have been able to put up with the pounding on his body.

I remember TRob as a good QB with a great arm but his potential outdistanced his production. Not in the same discussion as Manning, Shula, or Holloway.

Disagree. Tony Robinson broke numerous records during his brief tenure at UT. Those of us that saw him play would indeed put him in the discussion with Shula and Holloway.

I fear our biggest weakness will be both LOS, so I will say either Reggie or Harry Galbreath. Harry was road-grader and a leader, 2 things this team really needs.

Considering our wealth of youthful talent at WR I have a hard time not taking Manning. Actually, considering the youth of much of out talent on offense, I think Manning's stock is raised considerably by what he brings outside of merely throwing the ball. Everybody on that offense would get better, quicker, with Manning at the helm. If we already had an experienced group on offense for Butch's system I'd be looking really hard at Shuler.

Why do people say this??...No, He wasn't...The only year he did anything was his senior year and he only played half of it...He beat an overrated Auburn team who got demolished by Texas A&M in the cotton bowl...That was his big moment...Yes he could throw the ball a mile but come on, you guys way over hype him...I remember more bad things he did than good...Losing to Kentucky at HOME..Throwing the ball across the field to try and stop the clock with no time left...Fumbling and losing the game against Maryland...He tied ARMY :eek:lol:

AL WILSON. Da fuh? He is simply the best person to ever play at UT from a motivational and hype standpoint. People will run through walls for him.

While the initial obvious choice is a QB, we had Bray the other year and we say how it didn't matter... so you could easily go with a DL.

I would bring back Reggie White or John Henderson, both were great.

One of my favorite memories of TN football was watching James "Little Man" Stewart fly over the line at goal line to score a TD. He was the best I have ever saw do that.

Stanley Morgan at tailback would be nice:good!:

For this team, I'd go over to the VFL office and hand Antone Davis his uniform and see if he had Charles McRae's cell #.

Al Wilson, because he was a great team leader, he inspired others.

Of all the things we have been lacking I think a real solid team leader has been missed the most.

This team I would go with Reggie. We need a pass rush to help the secondary. Really any team it would be hard to not want to add Reggie or Manning.
