If We Get Fined for the Fake Injury....

It seems so appropriate that the first recipient of this fake injury fine would be Tennessee. No team has seen more of it from the opposition, but nothing happens to those offenders. UT is far from innocent. We do it after almost every extra point, but that we be the first to get nailed for just seems so perfect.

I thought that Georgia did a fake injury before we did. In my mind, I thought it was tit for tat. So, if only we get fined, we'll know who Mom likes best.

Then we know the SEC hates us. We're the ones everybody fakes injuries against. We do it one time and they're gonna try to make an example out of us. Pathetic if it happens.
Pathetic we did it. Player should be suspended for the rest of the game and coach fined for this crap. It just awful .

Just because everyone else speeds on the roads does not mean that you have a defense if you get a ticket.

It isn’t a penalty unless you get caught.

If we get fined, no other reason than we did the infraction.

Definitely no UGA fake injury. You might be thinking of the dude who got hit in the junk. He walked off and returned shortly thereafter, but he also slowed up mid-play when the contact happened.

How long before he re-entered? How many more plays did he have?
No clue to be honest with you. If you think our coaches wouldn’t hold out a few plays to make it look better I’d say you’re wrong. All I’m saying is we can’t have it both ways. We cry when teams do it to us, so I’d rather we didn’t do it to other teams.

I'm not certain these penalties will be public. It's bad for the conference to have it publicized. I'd rather they send the first one privately, let the other coaches know who gets fined, then only announce it if a coach is suspended for it.

All the teams do it and it's a lousy look for the SEC to make it known how many coaches might get fined.

When does the SEC office announce 'fake injury fines' for the previous week games (or do they even make it public)? If they are public, have they levied any fines thus far, against anybody?

Sankey’s letter said that the first fine would come with a public reprimand. If there’s a fine, we’ll know.

Like most of them there's no way to be sure it was fake. I've seen injured guys in battle (Viet Nam) who continued to perform for several seconds or even a few minutes when they had serious wounds/injuries. The best rule would be to have any player that says he can't continue is to have him sit out for a certain number of plays or length of time.

It was a really bad fake. i could see the commish doing a warning for this one, but not cutting us slack on the next. But will he?

Also, fake injuries are far less common. We don't hurry up as much as we used to.

Everyone did it to us....only fitting we would be the first team to get fined. That's the Tennessee way.

Just make the faker sit out the remainder of the quarter if it's less than half complete. If the quarter is almost complete, then make them sit out the next entire quarter. That will stop it.
