If we have 1 more scholarship in 2011, IT NEEDS TO GO TO THIS KID:

Alando Tucker was amazing at Wisconsin and they have had many great players before him. Penn St... eh... Wisconsin had a down year offensively without any good scorers. They played solid defense though. You should Google the lowest scoring game ever in college basketball. I warn you, you may not like what you see nor the tactician involved.

You said you grew up watching him play and you expected him to make waves in college basketball. I'd rather offer Lester Wilson and to clarify, he is nothing more than an incredible athlete and dunk artist. You also said you'd rather see him here than at San Diego St which implied he was offered by them and no school among his 6 D-1 offers even compares to them. Not even close. Your friend should go take that free ride to Harvard and get a degree from one of the most prestigious s schools in the country.

agreed......... I thought that was why you had to have at least 100 posts to start a thread.

oh well, it gone for 4 pages now.

I say he is the OP, or absolutely hammered. If the latter is the case, kudos for having posting very legibly. :)

Probably not the best way to fish for scholly's. This isn't a paradox like what comes first, the chicken or the egg, and this kid needs to learn what comes first, the highlights or the highlight film... nothing in there was overly impressive.

Anything prior to the shot-clock does not count. However, with the modern 35 second shot clock, each team, in a game without any turnovers, should have at least thirty-four field goal attempts.

For a team to hit less than fifteen field goals in forty minutes of play is abysmal.

I didnt grow up watching him, I watched him improve each year in HS and he is a legit D1 talent.

He holds an offer from San Diego State. The best route for him would be to go to a prep school to get more exposure to bigger programs, but his recruiting is picking up as people recognize the talent and potential.

Its obvious he needs to add weight, but he does have talent. I guess his highlight videos need Hip Hop music with cool editing or a co-sign from Hoopsmixtape in order for people to take it seriously. I've seen him play in person enough, the kid can ball at a high D1 level.

He is terrible; as are the programs that are recruiting him.

Really? Hes terrible because hes not a 5* recruit?

There are plenty of talented players out there who get overlooked by big schools as 2* or 3* recruits. At the same time, when a big school gets involved with a talented player who was previously overlooked, they get it right.

There is a guy at Butler named Shelvin Mack who likely will be a 1st Round Pick who had offers from Akron, Bradley, & Evansville. Was he terrible?

Russell Westbrook was unknown until UCLA took a chance on him.

This guy Joey Gripper can play. It will be pure poetic justice when he is the starting PG for the team who eliminates your Kansas Jayhawks in the tournament.

But for people to say he was nothing more than a solid hs player, that is obviously wrong. The kid has D1 offers.

Exactly.

The kid does have multiple D1 schools interested in him, and he is worth a shot in my opinion. Whether or not he plays here for 4 years is up in the air, we need a PG for this upcoming season and he is worth a gamble.

If it doesnt work both sides can amicably part ways after 1 year.

I'm willing to bet he is better than Washpurn & Chevious.

I said he is terrible because I watched his "I love me" film. Granted, I was on the same floors as the Rush brothers, David Lee, and Jeff Hawkins when I was in high school. I was also on the floor with a guy named Jamar Howard whom everyone thought was going to be a star at KU and ended up barely playing at Wichita State. Jamar Howard is one-hundred times the athlete and ball player of the kid I viewed in the video you just posted.

Okay.

Hahahahahahahaha. Wow. So, he is going go from having scholarship offers from only Harvard, App. State, and Quinnipac to starting for UT as a freshman?!?!

Please, keep these coming.

Maybe if the Jayhawks field a team of chairs.

Umm... not true at all... not even close. Both of his parents were world class athletes and he was most definitely known as one of the best athletes in his class, albeit an extremely raw talent. He was also considered the fastest player in his class... lol

I still want to see a link showing an offer from San Diego St. I can't seem to find that anywhere... Or does he have a "silent offer"? LMAO

I could not care less how far they made it. When you win an NCAA basketball game by a final score of 36-33, you lose the right to dignity and respect. The only way I will ever look upon the Wisconsin and Penn State XXY-Chomosone basketball teams with any respect is if and when one of them wins a national championship at some point in the future.

Until then, they need to be playing with the girls.

Tennessee once won a game 11-7 in the old Volunteer Classic. Temple was the opponent. They immediately went into a stall every time they had the ball. Of course, there was no shot clock back then

That is what I was referring to SGV... I just wanted to make him do the legwork and find out for himself that his favorite team holds the record for lowest scoring game... :)

Yeah, I was at that game. Talk about boring basketball. Pearl refused to come out of the zone and Temple just ran the clock.

Makes a bit of a difference. Shot clock era assures that each team has at least thirty-four shots in a game with no turnovers.

UT is my favorite college basketball team? Good to know.
