I think we missed a lot last year. Here are some and where they went. I dont know the story on all of them but kiffin missed a lot.

Alabama:
Brandon Ivory-3 star, no.9 prospect in tn, 73rd best dt in nation, 6-3 330 pds

Harrison Jones-3 star no.8 prospect in tn, no.19 te in nation (was never comin here because of brother)

Keiwone Malone- 4 star no.3 prospect in tn, no. 32 wr in nation

Kentucky:
Tim Mcadoo-3 star no.12 prospect in tn, no.76 dt in nation, 6-2 310 pds

Avery Williamson- 3 star no.14 prospect in tn, linebacker, 6-2 220 pds

LSU:
Justin Maclin-4 star, no.5 prospect in tn, no. 20 de in nation, 6-4 215 pds

Ole Miss:
Jared Duke-3 star, no.13 prospect in tn, no.67 ot in the nation, 6-6 325 pds

MSU:
Fernando Bohanna-3star, no.7 prospect in tn, no.15 lb in nation, 6-0 232 pds

Southern Miss:
O.C. Brown-dont know his stars but he was no.6 prospect in tn, no. 11 og in nation

Thats a lot, and I left off the 2 star players. We could really use those dl and ol guys. Kiffin surely didnt put a fence around TN, I hope DD does.

I don't know that. Just saying it's kinda weird that he was supposed to visit 2 straight weeks and commit after each visit but never made it in.

Speaking of Thomas, I think that he was injured this past week. Not sure the extent, but I remember that he had to leave a shootout in the 4th Q.

As good as it is to see us get instate talent.....we don't have as much as GA, SC, or LA....that's where we need to get players from

I believe the state of TN will continue to consistently produce solid OL, DL, TEs, and LBs as it always has.

We have to go out of state to get the speed/skill guys however.

when was the last time we had this much in state talent? Itd be awesome!!!!
This! Usually the state has around 6 to 8, 10 tops Div. 1 signees with usually half that being SEC quality talent.

This year seems to have around 10-12 players or more with SEC talent and will probably have close to 20 or more Div. 1 signees.

Way more than 10 sign D1 on average.

the numbers are higher than this cuz the TN rankings only went to 25 in '10, 35 in '09, and 20 in '08 and I didn't feel like looking beyond those guys.

2010- 21 (10 SEC)

2009- 30 (17 SEC)

2008- 20 (12 SEC)

Ivory and Harrison Jones would be nice to have. Would be the only 2 imo.

Justin Maclin as well. Dude looks like a beast.

I think we need all of them. Along with the DT's, Brown was a four star OL and 11 best guard in the nation. He was a big loss, dont know how we lost him to Southern Miss. Does anyone know the story on him. Bohanna would have also been big. Being the 15th best LB in the nation. Malone at WR would also be nice. A 4 star and 32nd best receiver in the nation.

Brown was way overrated. No idea why Rivals had him ranked that high. There is a reason no big schools ever went after after him.

I'm fine with taking all 3 of the LBs we took over Bohanna.

All 4 WRs we signed are better than Malone imho.

7 out of the top 15 in our own state is MEDIOCRE. Do you want a competitive team in 2-4 years or a championship team? If we continue to recruit only half of Tennessee's top 15 each year for the next 4 years, we are going to be a mid-to-low SEC team in 4 years. Sorry, that's not what I signed up for and that ain't no fence.

No way there are 15 players in state worth a scholarship. In the 90s we owned ga and sc in recruiting. That's where we got our championship talent along with the top 5 or so in state players

Georgia is much more important than putting a fence around Tennessee anyways, especially with Ricth in a little bit of limbo.

Yea, the point is we need to be able to lock up our talent. Its not like we are saying dont get the GA or SC guys or we are going to win with TN talent alone. We are not talking about 30 guys from TN. We should get 8 or 10 of our top guys and continue to get top guys from outside the state. GA, SC, AL, FL, MS, and LA have plenty to go around. However I do agree with GA being maybe the most important. Man they pump out lots of talent!
