Why is this so difficult to understand? Wearing golf spikes to a tourney is no different than wearing golf attire to a tourney IMO. That's what I'm trying to say.

Thats why I said, These guys are actually playing so they get a pass.
When did a polo and shorts become specifically golf attire?

There's a goat track near here that has a big sign next to the "clubhouse" door with their rules posted on it. My favorite is the one that says "Shirts must be worn on holes 1, 9, 10 and 18."

i understand what you're trying to say and still respectully disagree so i'll just leave it at that.

personally, i don't see the need for the shoes but i wouldn't hold it against the person if they wanted to wear them either. i just know if i went to a tournement of any kind, much less the masters, i would be dressed in a manner that's acceptable for the course.

when visiting strip clubs I kinda feel obliged to take my clothes off... just seems like the right thing to do so as to "fit in".

although I do make a point to leave my golf shoes on.

Seems reasonable. The footing can be suspect in some of those places.

No one said it did.
So it's when I put on a performance polo and short socks that will put me over the edge? I'm going to the Heritage next week in Hilton Head. I've got to know so I don't cross the line to gooberdom.

so now that we know what we can't wear, can we please get a list of acceptable items to wear?

Holes visible from the road?

Sounds like somebody wears golf shoes to tourneys.

LOL. No I have never worn golf shoes to a golf tournametn, unless of course, I was playing in it. In fact, I wore tennis shoes as a competitive junior and didn't start wearing golf shoes until my college coach made me. Last year I got some of the Eccos like Freddy wears. They are ultra comfortable and feel just like sneakers

I may have to try Eccos. Everyone that gets a pair says they are themost comfortable shots they've ever worn.

I just want to say that its ridiculous for one grown man to concern himself with what another grown man is wearing that day.

The point I was trying to make in an earlier post. Seems no one got it, especially the OP

The great thing is about them is you can wear them to and from the course. I try not to wear them anywhere else so the little nubs don't get worn down prematurely, but you could actually wear them for any casual function. Besides being comfortable, they're fairly stylish

The khaki shorts is a southern staple. Southern guys don't really have a keen fashion sense.

I have a pair for work shoes going on three and a half years or so. I might start calling them my RexRyans because they still make sweet sweet love to my feet like it's the first time. Way comfy.

I must confess, I always pictured you as a golf shoes to golf tournament kind of guy...

Maybe, maybe not.

I'm also a heterosexual male, thus my lack of overall concern for what other men wear.

Does anyone else just go to a local course, and walk alongside random golfers as a "patron", like they are in a tourney?

Or is that just me?
