.... don't even let them come to the game.

This does not seem like the action of a campaign confident in its candidate.

Kinda like how Obama promised "We'll have the negotiations televised on C-SPAN, so that people can see who is making arguments on behalf of their constituents, and who are making arguments on behalf of the drug companies or the insurance companies." I don't recall too many instances when C-SPAN or others were invited to these meetings either.

I knew someone would bring up this far different situation as an analogy.

Having read it in print now, its even worse an approximation than I originally thought.

Red Herrings are a staple of some of the posters here.

"Sarah Palin is not allowing the media to attend one of her events."

"B-b-b-b-b-but OBAMA!!!!"

Far different how? You're suggesting Palin doesn't want the press available because she may say something that she doesn't want reported to the public. Obama doesn't want the press available because they may report something that he doesn't want to be made public. Seems like a reasonable analogy to me.

On the other hand, you conveniently failed to mention in your original post that the media can purchase a ticket to Palin's event like anyone else and take all the notes they want. Why should she let a group (the media) in for free when they would only be there for the purpose of trying to report something negative?

Oddly enough, only one group uses said Red Herrings. We never hear about Bush having been the problem, especially from our chief blame officer.

I don't seem to remember Palin making numerous promises on tv to have the media there.

As far back as I can remember, any person running for president has always courted as much free press as they could possibly get.

I can think of no reason that a candidate would want to shut out free coverage of that candidate speaking in front of a crowd of supporters.

Well, one.

I'm finding numerous examples of Obama at fundraisers talking to hundreds of supporters but the events are closed to media.

LG is conspicuously absent.

that usually happens when his premise is proven to be full of fail. He'll then move on to another topic bashing Hannity or he'll make another post in his never-ending farewell thread.

Obama is POTUS. It is wrong that he not grant full press access to the meetings regarding health care or any other subject. I completely agree.

How does that point refute the fact that, clearly, there is such a lack of confidence in Palin's ability to do anything other than to make a fool of herself that she turns down free media attention? Most people who are not POTUS, but who one day hope to be POTUS, absolutely love to have press show up at anythign they do. But her handlers shun it in this instance, depsite the fact that the crowd will be 100 % pro-Palin.

Obama incorrectly turning away the press simply does not answer my point that Palin, if she were a serious candidate, would court as much press as she could possibly get.

She will not run for president in 2012, I guarantee it.

Why are you so obsessed with someone you hate so much? You start a bash Palin thread weekly.
