If you could go back to the Spring of 2005....

that depends... would you want to have the best run in program history marred by some off the court adversity?

Sounds like just about any major program over the last 30 years not named Duke, so I'd say yes.

Yeah, he was probably the best choice at the time with a fan base that was hungry for a change in Tennessee basketball.

Absolutely. Despite how I feel now, Pearl was a great fit. Anderson would have been great hire too, and Marshall, but the past 6 years have been a blast. I had season tix until moving and those Lofton years were the most fun I have had as a UT fan outside of 98 football. Was proud of the program. Recent events don't change that.

I haven't ever cared for the guy and never will.

So I can't say I would have hired him. I've enjoyed the highs since he's been here, though.

Would you let me know then what I know now?

If so - I might be tempted to hire him and attach a compliance officer to his right hip.

If his career played out exactly the way it has........

Boy, that's a really, really tough question.

No. His lies and cheating made him such a team cancer that some of it rubbed off on Chris loften

Tough question to answer. I will have to wait until his time at Tennessee is officially up. I all depends on this investigation. If we survive and get a good coach, I will still view his tenure here as being fairly positive.

I'll wait til June to make this decision to see what kind of penalties are given to the program. From what I understand, most of the sanctions will be specific to Pearl with little harm done to the program, so at this point I'd say yes.

I would have a long talk with Brent Schaeffer and tell Ainge to take a hike. That guy set our program back 10 years...
