If you could pick any team for a Home and Home series..

I still want to see Tennessee finish the home and home and go to Provo and play BYU. It may be my alma mater, but I'm still rooting for the Big Orange in Knoxville, Provo, or wherever. I still want revenge for that loss in Knoxville (and still wanted a penalty for the BYU player throwing the Tennessee player's shoe like the Florida guy did in that LSU game).

Give me the Buckeyes. Two of the most storied programs in the country, passionate fanbases, great stadiums. I think UT folks would be pleasantly surprised by Columbus, and lord knows these Ohioans don’t need much incentive to visit East TN. Would also be two of the best band programs in the country.

Edit: I also want bragging rights over the people at church. 🤣

With the bye week, I’ve found myself going down rabbit holes watching old games, and it got me thinking:

If you could pick any team to start a series with, who would it be?

Personally, I’d love to see a series with Notre Dame. I miss the atmosphere and history that comes with playing them, and it would be great to bring that tradition back.

How about you all? Which team would you want to see us line up against? And why?
This is dumb, I know, but I've always wanted to check out that blue field in person at Boise State. I'd like to have a home and away vs them.

Washington State. The Cougars have been to Knoxville, but I don’t think the Vols have ever been to Pullman.

I think Virginia Tech is a great cultural fit as an opponent but I really want to play Notre Dame again (I saw them referenced).

Playing UCLA would be nice as well because we lost the last few games against them in embarrassing fashion and they kind of ended Fulmer's career so getting revenge would be nice.
They have a really fun stadium experience (vt) its cringe but fun 😁

Really wish we would have gone through with the trip to Provo. That would be a cool place to travel to as a a Vol fan. Washington would be my choice tho. Beautiful campus. Right on the water like Neyland. The purple vs orange would be a nice look on the field. Gimme the Huskies
Washington is a great choice. Awesome town and color contrast.

I visited SLC earlier this year and it is a gorgeous region but Idk how Vol fans would manage with how weird the alcohol situation is there. Dirty sodas and football, pass.

WVU would be a fun atmosphere on both ends.

Penn State could be cool, probably the two most intimidating stadiums in the country.

USC would be a team I’d love to see UT beat x2.

UT owes Nebraska as well.

Oregon embarrassed us pretty bad, would love to get a couple more shots at them, plus their stadium is an awesome atmosphere as well.

Illinois.

May have to make the trip down to Champaign from the burbs if that ever happened. I was considering going down for the basketball game this year.

But, for me it’s Oregon. A lot of mutual respect between the fanbases. I don’t really care for any other team than the big orange, but if you were to force me to pick a “second” favorite team I’d probably say Oregon. They caught us when we were down and I’d like another shot at them. Would be a cool matchup this year; their offense
vs our defense.

Me too. I’m in Wheaton. I’ve lived in the burbs since 1980. I’ve kind of adopted Illinois as a team I follow so I would definitely go to Champaign
