When guys come on officials they get to spend time around players and a significant amount with their host. Kids can be very different when talking to coaches as opposed to their peers. This is when you can learn a lot about whether a kid fits your culture or not. Some kids are a walking red flag when they think the authority figures aren't around. Not saying that is the case here. Just giving an explanation of how someone can suddenly not be a fit.

I mean do we use the excuse that they’re an ahole in a lot of situations? “Probably not a fit” seems like code for the kid has some personal baggage they would rather not deal with.
