‘23 IL WR Carnell Tate (Ohio State commit)

He never said he wanted to surprise anyone. Just that he didn’t want everyone to know before he announced. Which is why I think him showing OSU all the love is suspicious.
So the announcement...not the actual team.
Tate has never said, that I know of, shock the world, surprise the world. What I said earlier was about many of them, over the years, saying things of the such, and they never really do. I grouped Tate in with them, because he has on several occasions, according to AP, talked about it being surprising and out of nowhere.

that’s what I mean If it’s one of OSU or Tennessee the element of surprise is gone.

I think you misunderstood my post. I’m saying it WOULD still be a surprise if he chose Tennessee. Not that the element of surprise would be gone. OSU has all the crystal balls, all the momentum, etc.

If he chose TN at this point I think it’s fair to say it would be a surprise.

Really man? Why is it that if a TN fan even points out the fact that another team is good you and others resort to calling them trolls or thinking they are dumb for feeling that way?

Get real here. OSU would wreck the following teams virtually every year: Vandy, Ole Miss, Arky, TAMU, UF, TN, SC, UK, Missouri. I think more years than not they would beat LSU. Would they wreck UGA and Bama? No. So they would wreck about 95% of the SEC.

If you think otherwise then you are deluding yourself. That’s not trolling. That’s just fact.
No.... just no. The gauntlet of the SEC proves this false damn near every year. Wrecking a weak Big10 schedule is much easier than facing those teams on a weekly basis. Sorry but I do not agree. Not many teams run the SEC schedule without a hiccup. OSU is a good program but honestly they are no better than Florida, LSU, UT, Auburn historically speaking. What they did have the benefit of along the way is media bias. Much like Notre Dame and even Michigan. I'm sorry but those teams simply do not have the athletes to match SEC play week to week.

OSU literally has the highest winning percentage of all-time. They are not some chump program. Neither are we of course, but they are certainly better historically than Auburn or Florida. If they were in the SEC all these years their win total would probably be a little lower, down probably around where ours is, but jeezus, that's still good. They, along with Tennessee, are a historically elite program. Right now, considering the current layout of the conference, they probably would be favored to beat everyone this fall except Bama and probably Georgia.

Have you considered joining an OSU board so you can continue singing their praises to people that actually care?

Did you actually read my post ? Anyway, yes its eady to stack wins in a not so dominant conference isn't it ? 3 teams get media coverage in the north. Ohio State, Michgan and Notre Dame. Everyon elses is lame duck that even the middle of the pack SEC teams would dog stomp. Throw in Penn State forgot about them. Everyone talking about Bama bias, Ohio State had had the same bias for as long as I can remember from the big 10 and nothern voters yet they are what 2 and 10 against the SEC..... Mic drop

My take is Tate was set to be a Vol, but this last-minute push by OSU MIGHT have changed things. I think @matts42012 made his post over a week ago, and we all know the recruiting landscape can change in a moment. Hopefully Tate is still a Vol, but if he's not, don't play "bash the insider". OSU has been pushing hard these last few days. Hopefully Tate is still a Vol, but I think it entirely possible they've flipped him. We'll see tomorrow.

And if he doesn't pick us, we just move on down the WR board. Still plenty of good options out there.

Personally, I think it would be Tate's loss. JMO, but I think OSU is about to hit a little skid, and I think we are finally on our way back up.

this. seems logical, even from Weezer standards.

Florida has 200 less all-time wins than OSU. We're only 86 wins behind them, which I think CAN be explained by the relative strengths of the conferences but I think historically it's pretty clear they would be ahead of Florida and Auburn.
