‘23 IL WR Carnell Tate (Ohio State commit)

All the drama aside.

This kid and Echols for 2024 seemed to be the only ones that showed up to play against Miami Central.

Tate played well against them. There were some talented dudes on that Central team. It's a public school too. Which means IMG had no business losing to them. But like I said 2 months ago...🙄. That whole program is overrated.

Regardless, my opinion of Tate is one the rise. He's a better than what I thought he was. Has a good competitive fire

I would love to have Tate but I’m more worried about landing kids like Parker, Hobbs, etc. may not be as highly ranked but I truly believe those players will change the course of this team more than a WR. Of course if he ends up being a elite WR somewhere it’s a different story but I just don’t see that. He’s a great player.

My memory is that we had the biggest NIL deal, but still came up short. I have to wonder if there is some question about their ability to meet their number whatever it was. OR maybe the family revisited the money differential and getting to join Nico and is kicking the tires. Not going to get all worked up till something substantial REALLY happens. Not going to get sucked up into subtle trends. Even then will not feel cocky till the ink is dry. I am buying he is the real deal athlete wherever he ends up.

Really have to think Ohio state has somehow dropped the ball if two of their wr recruits are looking around.

Wish we had some facts. I do have to wonder if two receivers compared deals and neither one was happy with the deltas. OR if their NIL party added some qualifying statements to their deals. But that is all just wonder..... Really don't want to find out they were just trying to sweeten the pot, though that would make losing them easier to swallow.

On top of that, I have never had less of an idea, right or wrong, of what the staff's plan of attack is, relative to the HS pool vs the portal and the mix by position they would really like to have. I am for sending in a Mission Impossible team into the war room and installing some cameras with microphones. Bet they are still kind of guessing about number of slots actually available under the 85 next fall.
