CARNELL TATE to Tennessee
The five-star receiver from Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy committed to Ohio Stateover Tennessee, Notre Dame and others in June, but the Vols have not stopped recruiting him and should get him back on campus this weekend. Tate is very fond of Knoxville and everything Tennessee has to offer, but the recent wide receiver success at Ohio State and his preference to play in colder weather were some of the factors that drove him to the Buckeyes. Can Heupel’s offense convince him otherwise? This weekend could be telling.
Apparently at Clemson if you make a commitment public and continue to take visits, they consider you uncommitted and do not guarantee you a scholarship. Now, i would guess if you are a 5* or high profile prospect, they would still take you, but if you are 3* you are probably SOL if something else comes along to them
No one’s beta tested that policy, but if a Deshaun Watson or Trevor Lawrence had taken an official at another program? They had a spot.Apparently at Clemson if you make a commitment public and continue to take visits, they consider you uncommitted and do not guarantee you a scholarship. Take humidity over being cold/chilly anytime. Main reason I moved from the north. Not a fan of cold, dryness, and “fall” weather. I like being hot, but to each they own. In regards to Tate, I’m confused on the “preference to play in cold weather.” May have said that b/c his dream school happens to be up north. And if he actually prefers the cold, it’s totally understandable why he’s a IMG. Tolerate the hot for a couple years, so it can help him prepare for college. There isnt an IMG up north, so south it is for the time beingI’m not a humidity guy myself. I like to be able to be outside for 5+ minutes and not be sweating my azz off
