"Too much...of SOMEONE ELSE'S money."I like Tony, but I found it annoying how, after months and months and months of hand wringing about how we weren’t in the game with the big boys when it came to NIL, he lost his mind about us allegedly spending 8 mil on Nico.
Tony, we’re either in the game or we’re not.
-VQCarnell Tate will be visiting the weekend of the Tennessee spring scrimmage on the All Vol weekend. Tate has lots going on after naming a top 5 this week. Ohio State is the team many expect him to eventually pick but Notre Dame and Tennessee also heavily in the mix. Tate plans on (officially) visiting Tennessee this spring.
I agree and this makes me wonder why Arch would wait until the fall. Seems like a lot of the "star" players will have committed by then and peer recruiting becomes less effective. If it is down to AL, GA, & TX, I wonder if they start to persuade him to make a decision sooner, as I think it puts those teams at a disadvantage.I believe with Tate, he will go where either Nico or Dante Moore go. Landing Nico will help with recruiting elite WRs, RBs and OL. If OSU or Norte Dame land Moore, it will help them the same way. Will be an interesting April.
I hope he waits till fall. Let him take his time.I agree and this makes me wonder why Arch would wait until the fall. Ehh... Calloway, Jennings, Palmer, and soon to be Velus are in the league and are all productive. Ohio State did have some ballers though.Man I hate Ohio St but their resume to produce wrs lately is top notch and their Wr coach is well liked. Its gonna be a hard fought battle and getting Nico most def will help us but I think this one is far far from over.

Payton will have a shot as an UDFA.
Palmer and Jenning actually played in the playoffs... I don't think that's true whatsoever. Velus is well known beyond our fanbase lol. I get what you're saying but you using a lot of unsubstantiated assumptions as well. You want to hear a crazy fact about an anonymous vol is the fact John Kelly is still in the league... that's crazy.I agree but unfortunately perception is everything in these times and Ohio state has been pumping out some quality players. You hear a bunch of how good their wrs are and how good their wr coach is.I mean Tillman didnt even break the top 10 for returning wrs after a 1000 yard season.Chris Olave is a name u hear daily with this draft and most folks outside vol fans dont even know who Velus Palmer or Jennings is.

I think we both agree but just see the situations a tad differently.Take this quote from Tate...
“The main reason I’m considering Tennessee is because that school has built receivers, honestly,” he said at the time. “They have the most first-round-pick receivers in the league. And then they just need guys like me to get them back up there.”

You dont hear him saying that about Ohio st.I hate Ohio St but like I said perception is everything. If this was the Hunter,Da'Rick days of Wru this isnt even an discussion.Weve come along way from those days but u dont see him say anything about any of those dudes u mentioned, and they sure aint 1st rounders.Ill give u the Velus cause ppl proh know of him more but ur casual fans dont know who Palmer or jennings is if they did ur guys like Tate would be quoting them not talking anout gettin us back to relevance. If u took a poll im sure most would know the names at the top spot for (Terry McLaurin/Curtis Samuel, Michael Thomas) over Palmer Jennings and Callaway. This js all in relation to the Us vs Ohio St.Sorry at work so this kinda came iut garbled.
It's not just perception, it is reality...... My gawd, they have the best receiver in the country coming back in Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and 5 guys who are almost as good in Marvin Harrison Jr. (as polished as his hall of fame dad), and 2 of the top receivers in their class (Emeka Egbuka and Julian Fleming). plus 5* Jayden Ballard. It is unreal and Tates only concern would be getting touches.
