I'll ask: The pink elephant in the room.....

Barry or no other Dem President would have went into Iraq or Afghanistan. So both would still be alive and in power today. I also remember Barry running around slamming Gitmo. Where did the intel come from that led to the death of Bin Laden come from? Bottom line if it were not for W, Bin Laden would still be alive.

Stupid assertition. Bottom line, if W had commited to Afghanistan perhaps Bin Laden would have been dead 7 years ago.

Pakistan?
Afghanistan

Afghanistan

Bush was committed to 2 wars at once, Barry isn't committed to either because to him we are the source of evil in the world because we have done things to make these terrorists want to kill us.

No commit on Gitmo? Barry and the rest of the libs have ran around for years telling us how bad Gitmo is and should be shut down now.

That presumption is no better than the other one; under W, the intel and special ops communities experienced a significant increase.

Bin Laden was not killed by conventional forces; was not killed by intel derived by conventional operations; the surge in Afghanistan may or may not have indirectly led to Bin Laden's demise.

Obama's administration significantly increased the amount of ground troops in Afghanistan.

You continue to amaze everyone here with your brilliance; keep up the good work.

Now would be a good time to put on your fire-retarded suit.

late to the party, but I don't think there is any doubt that this helps Obama immensely. It's the first presidential thing he has done in office, IMO.

I think it would have helped him even more had he not jumped in the pulpit to proclaim how personally involved he was. If he really was, it would have been a huge boost to him as a president.

In the end, he's an economic disaster and I just don't know that he can do anything to overcome that, save pray for the opposition to continue to suck.

It would probably do you some good to research Obama's stance on Afghanistan and particularly, Bin Laden. YOu would see that he fully supported a new, fully reinforced effort to get Bin Laden.

Extreme right wing nonsense never being proven by anyone of your ilk.

It took 2 administrations 10 years to kill the guy. Let's all just say good work by all, and move on. I'm really starting to get pissed off hearing about all the political BS at this point. This isn't a Bush thing, or Obama thing, or maybe not even an America thing, this is about bringing a guy to justice who killed people, helped to kill people, or conspired to kill people on probably 6 or the 7 continents in the world. I'd say this is a victory for the world at this point, since we weren't the only one's involved in gathering the intel over the course of time.

Well put on both accounts.

Nice post:salute:

The people who succeeded in this have been working hard at it long before Obama became President. They did it with through methods that Obama wouldn't have allowed had it been on his watch.

Meet The 'Seal Team 6', The Bad-Asses Who Killed Osama Bin Laden

Of course, these dudes are basically ghosts, but there is a little insight into the background of the group itself.

Coolest line in the article:

"When a former Navy SEAL was called for a comment about this article all he could say was: "You know I'd love to help you man, but I can't say a word about Team 6. There is no Team 6."

The elite of the elite. There's no telling what kind of training these guys have to endure.

get out of here. This is 100% American. We did this ourselves. The rest of the world be damned. You think the UN would sign off on something like this?

But to answer the question honestly... yes this helps Obama. Even though he doesn't really deserve the credit. The real people who accomplished this did it inspite of him.

His stance is a moving target, changes depends on who he is talking to. Maybe you should look back at some of his speeches.

So, all the other countries who have lost people in this war don't get to participate in the victory because you think it's just about America?? You think that we did everything?? We may have led the raid to get him, but there were many lives lost in the pursuit of him that weren't just American lives. Sorry man, this is bigger than America, because when he helped orchestrate the attacks on 9/11, he attacked the "World" Trade Centers, not the America Trade Centers. Many countries lost lives that day, so this isn't just about American bub.

understood. but this is a historic speech and it should be for the other 95% of us.

I think the "we are not at war with Islam" line gets repeated so much because there's a vocal minority in the US and what seems to be a majority outside the US that constantly claims the exact opposite.

I don't think the President's speech will change those peoples' minds all that much.

Also, for the thread starter: the phrase is addressing the elephant in the room

Pink elephants relate to the idea of being intoxicated or drunk

Other countries can celebrate our accomplishment. America took him out. That is a fact.

The bullet that was fired was from a US gun, no doubt, but the death is something that affects the world more than just America. You want to give our military credit for conducting the strike, I'm alright with that, but don't forget all the lives lost in pursuit of this a-hole. They all have a tie to that bullet that killed him, American or not.

and America has sacrificed far far more to this end than any other countries have. Everyone else should be thanking us for ridding the Earth of this guy.

Look at the name of this thread genius. This thread was stared by an Obama supporter asking a question. If you don't like the responses don't read the thread.

You are unreasonable. Go through life being a bitter hateful person. Your e-cred is off the charts, tough guy.

You must be related to joevols.
