If you don't think there is something behind the mockery of Illinois for raising taxes as opposed to cutting spending, and that it has at least some basis in Chicago and race, then you are not being honest with yourself, much less the board.
I get it now.
If businesses pick up and leave for a neighboring states lower taxes, their the racist for not wanting to contribute more.
No.
Fox News,Drudge, Laura Ingraham, and their ilk talking this up because its an example of a state perceived to have a large black population electing to raise taxes versus cut spending to balance the budget. Reinforces stereotype they advocate that social spending is for black people.
Pretty obv, imo.

just like it was obvious Palin/Beck were behind the AZ shooting? Has anyone even mentioned race besides you?
The mockery from the right is purely about increased taxes as a route to hell vs a route to prosperity. It has nothing in the least to do with Chicago or race.
Stormfront is a white nationalist and supremacist[1] neo-Nazi[2] Internet forum that has been described as the Internet's first major hate site.[3]
Someone had it above. Its going to be an interesting experiment. But why people are talking about it like they are is what is ... disturbing.

40% of my neighbors are from either California and work for Nissan or are from NJ or NY. They all said they left due to taxes getting out of control. Why you think Jackson National Life Company is opening a regional office in Brentwood which is rumored to become their main office after they completely bail out of Michigan? Because businesses are in the business of making money and taxes are overhead no matter how you slice it.
funny part is the welfare debate isn't really the biggest problem. it's union wages and benefits for state employees.
so in your opinion the fact that they are raising taxes rather than cutting benefits in a state with heavy union political control isn't relavant to the conversation and shouldn't be debated?
