Illinois Declares Neighboring States "Open for Business"

Good luck denying the fact that the entitlement versus taxes debate has no racial element to it. I think that's a ludicrous position.

how is railing against public pensions racial in a state where the vast majority of pension funds are going to white people?

not like he's going to answer honestly and say yes.

and like I said before, once the racism tag comes out you have to actually defend yourself from it rather than discuss the position

Or better yet discuss the actual issue. In this case being taxes going up and spending going up with it.

Edit.

Along with business moving out.

i'd be willing to bet the overwelming majority of money for pensions and salaries goes to white people. police and fire (as an example and usually teh biggest users of govt $$$) have been majority white in chicago (and more so in teh surounding areas) for decades.

I think he just read you like a book. You do have white guilt written all over every post.

If you deny that a huge number of people think that Obama is driven to help and/or protect black people with his entitlement spending, you have your head in the sand or up your butt.

Same with the Black Panthers case.

relavance to this issue?

Because understanding pension programs and the politics surrounding them is pretty complicated stuff. Understanding that the state that yielded a black president is spending a lot of money on entitlements that help blacks, is not.

See above.

don't know what you googled, but it was a term for the unkempt for some college buddies and me.

Yeah, that was pretty much what the search yielded. "Appalling" might not have been the right word. Perhaps "glibly nodding in agreement" more accurate.

That's because has spent his entire political career being racist in his job. His entire body of work prior to the senate was steeped in preferential spending for the folks who might vote for him in the future. Once in senate, he kept up the vote buying, but no longer limited it to just blacks.

sadly that's not the topic anymore. He's already admitted it's a terrible idea but that doesn't matter

have you actually looked at the break down of who voted for Obama.

BBC NEWS | Americas | US Elections 2008 | Who voted for Obama?

He was elected by the same group that got Clinton in office. The under 30 crowd that got all revved up. The same crowd that is asking where all this hope and change is now as they graduate and can't get jobs.

Did 99% of the blacks and union members vote for him. Of course they did. But it's not the only reason he got elected.

This makes no sense whatsoever.

it's complicated that public employees make a lot of money and have big pensions? seriously?

there are more whites in IL who benefit from entitlement spending than blacks. Racism not found except in your thinking that all blacks are on welfare. Sad

"Clarence Oh there they go. There they go, every time I start talkin 'bout boxing, a white man got to pull Rocky Marciano....Rocky Marciano!, Rocky Marciano!..."

Who gets elected has almost everything to do with what age group shows up in force and what gender. Race has not controlled a national election yet. But what does this have to do with this thread?

These threads would hold alot more weight if they were ever created by an actual African-American.

I am thankful for Lawgators insight.

Makes me proud and thankful my parents raised me to see through all the BS in life

This has nothing to do with race. Also, it's absurd. There's plenty that IL can cut. They could start by cutting state employee cellphones like Jerry Brown of CA.

I think I speak for everyone when I say that racism does not exist, and that bringing up any possibility of racism is inherently racist.

I think I speak for everyone when I say that racism does not exist, and that bringing up any possibility of racism is inherently racist.

I think I speak for most when racism is exploited for political purposes, it does a great injustice to those that are actual victims of it.

bringing up the PROBABILITY that this particular issue is in the news due to a racist angle is inherently idiotic, which has been the point from the word go.

You think racism is exploited for political purposes? Isn't that what Lawgator was saying?

NO. LG1 was saying that this issue is only a headline because racists on the right want to make it an issue so that they can push a race angle.

Exactly.

LG made it through half the thread before his opinion of the real issue come out.
