Not sure what you mean by that's the angle, but you agree that racism is used for political exploit unless it's a position you happen to agree with? From what I saw, LG claimed that there are often racial undertones when discussing "entitlements". From reading the countless anecdotes of seeing people in "Cadillacs and gold teeth buying food with food stamps" I can see it. Let's not pretend that terms like "welfare queen" have no racial connotation.

I'm not claiming that one can only care about the issue because of racism, but that saying racism plays no part in some people's opinion is silly.

who said it plays no part in some people's opinion? Hell, martians play a part in some people's opinions too, on every issue. That doesn't mean that this issue is in the news because some horde of conservatives has a racist angle and wants to shove this in some else's throats.

Then what are you guys so upset about? If I missed something point it out, but i didn't see LG claim everyone who was against higher taxes was a racist. He pointed out that this type of issue is red meat to some people because of the racial undertones. The same way illegal immigration somehow always centers around Mexicans(when was the last time you heard about Canadian "anchor babies").

post #5 and many thereafter clearly said this was front page news because of the racial angle. He even went so far as to say that the hike was a disaster in the making, yet followed up by saying this is newsworthy due to the racists that want to flaunt that blacks cost Illinois too much money. Even went so far as to say that some of it is because our black president hails from Illinois.

Cold weather, taxes, my daughters skin disease, pretty much anything but this. Just thought it was odd that his first post had nothing to do with the OP and went straight to what we are discussing now.

What is it about community organizer that upsets you so much. I really don't get where people like yourself are coming from. Certainly the idea of working for your community wouldn't bother anyone, so is it an attempt to discredit Obama. I mean, with even the slightest bit of effort someone could find he has other rather impressive qualifications.

Take peoples minds off the real issue so you can lay a good screwing to them some other way.

W = Wealth
T = Tax rate
E = Earnings
S = Savings

W = E (1-T) + S (1-T)

The higher T is, the lower W is.

Just trying to be helpful.
