Is it a personal experience? What's the problem? Why does it raise your gander?

I'm curious.

Immigrants I have no problem with, it's the illegal part where people are purposefully circumventing the process where I have a problem. I may not agree with every law ever enacted but follow those laws and know full well if I ever break them there are consequences to pay, why should illegals expect to cross our borders and there be no consequence? Do you also believe that if I were to assault you I should receive no penalty?

Someone has been reading the lib talking points and does not do independent thinking on their own...it's about as far fetched as saying "I saw white pointy hats at every tea party rally" and yet to have anything to prove that. Come on guy. Turn off PMSNBC and come out of the parents' basement...

Its kind of hard to have respect for a country and its laws, when the 1st thing you do entering the country is illegal

I'm curious why you would ask such an asinine question when you know that isn't the issue at all.

Trying to frame the discussion within your red framing square of socislist talking points all the while intended to accuse the 75% of Americans who want immigration laws enforced, of bigotry or at least infer that they are in some way lacking in intellect???

no problem with immigrants, as long as they're legal. but i think you forget that part

I have a problem with legal immigrants who commit illegal acts, are connected to terrorist organizations, fund terrorist groups, preach the overthrow of the American government in favor of adopting sharia law and subjecting America to the authority of a caliph etc etc etd.

Chicago, NYC, Boston, and Miami have issues with illegal Russians....they're pale skinned and blend in. Unless you notice the smell of cabbage and the cheap cigarettes....how bigoted of me but I digress. I'm for shipping them back as well. Skin color means nothing to me in the realm of law.

I'm curious.

I have GREAT personal experiences with immigrants from Latin America. The ones I have worked with have the kind of family values, self dependence, and responsibility that made the US great to start with. They're more American than "Americans" who sit around waiting on their gov't check and complain that if unemployment runs out they may have to take a lower paying job than they had before.

As others have said... I have a real problem with the "illegal" part. I also have a HUGE problem with those who cross over just to get on US social programs.

My solution is this:

1- Register those here illegally now and "legalize" them. However they should NOT be allowed citizenship without returning to their country of origin for 5 consecutive years. As an alternate plan, allow employers to sponsor illegals and educate them at company expense for citizenship. At a minimum, they should be functional in English and learn the US Constitution/history.

2- Set up an Ellis Island type of operation on the border and process those who want to become citizens through that one "port".

3- Put any employer or gov't worker who employs or gives benefits to illegal aliens... IN JAIL or issue huge fines. The reason people are careless about hiring them now is economics. It doesn't cost them anything.

Whoa!!! I meant illegal immigrants.

Why don't we freak out over every single law and law breaker?

I mean why is it illegal immigrants that we freak out about?

Why do they bother us so much?

Why this issue and not another issue? Why is it illegal immigration that stirs our angst so much?

Has it directly affected you? I guess that's what I'm wondering.

Because they mooch off our government without paying taxes.

Because they bring drugs, weapons and violence into our country.

Because they make this country weaker in so many ways.

Illegal immigrants will be one of the downfalls of this country.

It effects me directly because it effects my country.
