No...I would like see us take another step forward...we are the "9th" ranked team in the country but we are getting blown out by a a below average team with as many walk-ons as scholly players.

It's funny how some basketball fans react to losses. Then again i've been a hawks fan since the mid 80's. lol

This team has a ton of work to do, but it's a long season. This was also UT's first road game.

Sure, in that context. He even beat UK three times his first year. However, there's been one constant at UT in recent memory: no noise in the postseason.

We have an AD who's willing to throw a lot at the basketball program now. I'm wondering if we'll ever find a basketball coach.

I don't know what Pearl will win here, but if he never wins anything, we can thank him for setting the stage for stepping to the top level.

That's the most frustrating part for me. With CBP's big salary and the amount of money spent on facilities, this team needs to accomplish more than sweet sixteen exits.

In the next practice, Pearl will really crack down to get the players motivated to play at a top level!! This loss will be good in the long run.

No he isn't, dickens, just don't let yourself be fooled by the fairy tale. Bruce is a showman, and he has brought excitement to TBA. He recruits well, and when things are clicking, his teams are a lot of fun. He'll keep UT in some sort of an orange spotlight, win a bunch of regular season games, throw up some gaudy national rankings every now and then, and keep us in the NCAA tournament so we'll have something to watch for a day or two in March. He'll also get drilled on a regular basis by talented, disciplined teams, and occasionally by teams that aren't.

Set your expectation levels there or you'll be pulling your hair out in clumbs season after season.

Basically, yes, it is. They'll still win a bunch of games and get dumped by the first really good team they play in the tourney. The main difference is that two years removed from that 48 hrs of glory, the formula is wearing a little old.

Look, I have been a Bruce Pearl supporter for a LONGGG time, but the Flex offense has got to go!!! We cannot score in the half-court and it is just pathetic watching! It is very easy to beat this Tennessee team, just slow us down in the half-court! A half-decent USC team did it and look at the result, a blowout highlighted by UT constantly throwing up clankers from 3!!! I thought Tyler Smith and Scotty Hopson would develop into reliable scoring threats, but Smith looks timid and Hopson looks flat-out scared out there! We lack backbone, physicality, fundamentals, and a half-court offense! This is just pathetic and embarrassing, especially with this much legitimate talent on the team...

With all this said, you can't just get rid of Pearl after one embarrassing loss! Give him a bit more time to prove himself, let's see what he can do against this very talented UK team! Let's see if we can break into the elite 8! If not, thank you for bringing our basketball program back to life but please exit to the left!

you bandwagon fans disgust me. I hope he does leave, worse than kentucky fans. i rarely even read the board anymore due to the pathetic fanbase on here. As a basketball school, we have no tradition, dont pay in the top 10, have some of the worst fans, and you want pat riley or Dean Smith or john Wooden type coaches to come here and put up with it. I personally think pearls team tend to have way too many times they go flat and not score for long periods of time, but to deny his success here is blind and ignorant. The only one of you who i can respect is hat, although i dont agree with him, and that is just because he has been this way from the beginning. I dont know any of you, but cant stand you, nor do i want to know you.
