It’s hard to say when we can know if JM has got it figured out or not.
Let’s say we beat Clemson in a bowl with JM, that’s not enough to know.
To beat Virginia isn’t nearly enough to know.
A win over Austin Peay won’t do it.
Florida in the swamp should do it, but a win over Florida means nothing these days.
UTSA nope.
South Carolina at home won’t tell us anything:
A&M is a joke so nothing there to help us know.
Alabama isn’t Alabama anymore so still let’s wait and see even after a win.
Kentucky, UConn or Mo? What’s the difference they won’t tell us anything.
Georgia at home not so much either, A QB playing at home isn’t a true test.
Vandy don’t count.
Even if JM were to lead us to an undefeated season and into the playoffs, based off our schedule he could still be unproven based off the scrubs on our schedule.
Maybe he can show us something in the playoffs that will prove he’s the guy.
Who will be the 1st to say a I told you so after a win?

People need not to forget that Clemson Defense is kinda scary. They have like 3 guys projected in the first round. and likely 6 that will get drafted total and that's just from the front 7. They got 40 sacks this year, they also generated 13 picks. To put that in perspective we got 27 sacks and 9 ints.

Milton having a decent game against these guys is a good sign for next season. Anyone expecting this game to be a cakewalk is sadly mistaken. Even if Hendon was healthy and we had no Opt outs this would be a hard test for the offense. This is easily the second best Defense we have seen all year behind GA. Folks get things twisted because of the DJ Oglyboogly stuff. Clemson only lost 2 games and the same team that booted us from the playoffs did it to them the next week.

I honestly think this will be a heck of a game. Which is great because, so far this bowl season has been terrible.

These below jumbled up Alphabet 3 letters make a difference and make stats somewhat irrelevant
yours faced ACC
ours faced SEC

looking ahead to a comment next December-
One season won't do it for me. Anyone can have one of those years where it all clicks.
HAHa
Yep, I told them Tom Brady is overrated he just strung a few years together that just clicked by chance anyone can do that, it's finally catching up with him. See I said he wasn't that good. :p

No they do not. Clemson's defense is no joke. Not sure where u got this yours and ours crap. Clemson is not my team I'm just pointing out the fact that they are not a pushover team and are easily the second best defense we have seen all year behind only UGA. Their front 7 is an NFL one. 6 guys in their front 7 are projected to be drafted this year 3 in the first round. Do I think we win. Of course I do, but this game could be interesting because there are a lot of unknowns on both sides due to opt outs, injuries and transfers.

Mgm bets should add to their parlay, of overthrow and longest throws, and how many people get knocked out in the stands

I don't get this idea of a bowl game, with the opt-outs and a month removed from the season, as a way to gauge whether Milton is or isn't the guy for 2023. Too many variables, and you can just never tell how a team will respond to what is in essence an exhibition game.

That won't stop VN from screaming to high heaven if God forbid Milton doesn't go 24-30-380 and 4 TD's, and has no overthrows. I just think it would be incredibly shortsighted not to go through spring ball and fall training camp and seeing how the off season work has impacted his game before beginning to pass judgment on Milton.

Wouldn't it be nice if the University provided a microphone for the reporters so that we could hear their questions and not just answers?
I'm longing for the day a big time booster breaks the bank for another mic. Hell I got a spare ill mail to them

I hope it becomes the Joe show. I really do. But the vandy game wasn’t really a step in the right direction. Good win but joe should’ve torched them. It was a terrible display of our passing game.

To put this in perspective....The ACC ain't the SEC

To put this in perspective....The ACC ain't the SEC
No perspective is needed for the obvious. What you are doing is common here it's called a Strawman Argument. No the ACC is not the SEC but it's not like we are comparing the NBA to G league or MLB to single A. This is Power5 vs Power5. Yes the SEC is the hardest league but the other conferences are not as far behind as to not be comparable Clemson's defense, talent wise, is proven. They have a much better defense, talent wise, than arguably anyone in the SEC outside of Georgia and maybe Bama. Their secondary is not scary but their front 7 is insane.

To give some perspective the only teams that scored more than 20 points vs Clemson were at some point ranked in the top 25. In fact they only gave up 30+ 3 times. ND, USCe (close losses) and Wake (a win). All 3 of those teams made noise and were at some point ranked. They didn't play an SEC schedule but they dominated the one they played in a convincing fashion. The only team likely to put more people in this year's draft on defense than them is UGA. It's not like they came from nowhere they have a track record. These are not 2 and 3 star guys that got coached up they are 4-5 stars from top 5-10 recruiting classes. The last 4 years their recruiting classes were 8th 9th 2nd and 7th. Not in the ACC not in the SEC, in the country.

My point is this is not a pushover game. There are legitimate reasons that we are underdogs in Thai game. I don't say this out of fear or a knock on UT. This is our opponents and one should be aware and respect that. If we want to be the best we have to beat them and this is a good opportunity to do so. Joe Milton and the guys that will make up next year's team have a chance to make a statement here or at least see their limitations and work on them in the off-season.

I am glad we have such an opponent for our bowl game.
