Any Keeneland plans this month Cotton? I'm actually headed to Paducah for a few days next week....

I doubt it. Every April and October I want to, and every April and October I keep finding myself unable to make it. It isn't that pretty horses and fast women have lost their appeal, but I can't seem to find the time for them anymore.

I have spent a lot of time in Lexington.

Hopkinsville is as blue as it gets.

Lived in Murray, KY for a while. I knew a few people from Hoptown, and if they are any indication of the town's entire fanbase, I'd have to agree with you.

For me all the "This is the year we beat UT in football" is worse than the BB stuff. It starts every year in August, and it doesn't stop until they take their annual beating on Thanksgiving weekend. It does make the Turkey taste better, though.

I've never dared say that. It makes the football gods very, very angry, makes them want to punish the Cats.

It's always easier to say, "Gee, I don't know if this will be the year, but I sure hope so."

As to basketball, it should be an interesting ride. Hoping for a return to the glory days of the 90s. :)

Also, we can still talk about how that 4 overtime game a few years ago. About how we SHOULD have won it, blah blah blah, as if its a moral victory or something. lol

Truth out loud, I'm not a die-hard UK football fan. I just root for them because they are associated with the University. :)

Moral victories are still a loss, and they suck.

I am a diehard UK FB fan, and I will probably get banned here the day that UK finally beats the Orange. :birgits_giggle:

Nah, I'll do my gloating with class.

You'll need a strong pair of reading glasses by then....

Correct. Anyone who is sick of them now will be terminal in about 3 years.

I've been sick of them for over 3 decades. My condition is chronic, not accute. I've learned to manage the pain, but the flare-ups are still tough.

EDIT: the best medicine, from what I can tell, seems to be a combination of brown liquor and football season.

Here are two issues that the highly ranked recruits will have for KY:

1. Chemistry. It will take them a while to form together as a team with so many Freshmen.
2. There will not be enough shots for all of them which will lead to frustration.

If things continue with the status quo, we will have canes and a back up defribrillator on hand. :dance2:

You think you're tired of them? I've lived among them now for 38 years. It's a wonder LexVol and I haven't had a Big Blew overdose.

Kentucky will be talented, for sure, and win a lot of games. However, I'm still not sold on Cal dominating the way Kentucky will expect him to dominate (Which, at this point, is basically anything under being undefeated. Not really, but it's close.).

Cal has been in two mid-major conferences and his MO has been to run through the leagues and get a high seed, guaranteeing some favorable matchups in the NCAAs. However, I have noticed that he struggled when the CUSA was in its heyday. I also noticed he had two SEC matchups the season they went to the Championship. They lost to UT and beat MSU by 2 in the tournament.

So, I think he won't run roughshod through the league and, at a school who once had some questioning Tubby when he was 23-2 (or something similar), the crazies will put his sanity to the test. Again, he'll still win a ton of games and, as the best salesman in the college game with the best bagman on top of that, get a bunch of players. But, I'm just not seeing a Pitino in the 90s type deal here. He won't have games against UTEP, Marshall, SMU, Rice, etc. for three months to guarantee a #1 practically every year and he has shown his weakness as an in-game tactition.

I'm with you pal. I live about 10 minutes from downtown Lexington. It's sickening...

Amen brother! When the local sports news profiles anything related to UK basketball, they always show highlights from past games with The Vols. Burns my biscuits!

Not to change the subject...a lot of us Vol fans in the Lexington area, does anyone ever get together or tailgate?
