I'm surprised at all of you.

It's not that we haven't recruited a shooter like Lofton; it's that we haven't recruited one single good outside shooter at all since Lofton and JaJuan Smith left. Not one.

I'm sure that's not Pearl's fault at all, though.

Well, McBee was actually a really good shooter in HS, but he's gone mental here in college and just sucks overall. Hopson, I would argue, is a pretty good shooter and Tatum shot at about the same percentage as JuJuan until this year. Jones next year is a great shooter, so we'll see.

God, what happens to these people when they get to college? Poor Bruce Pearl. Everybody he recruits turns out to be overrated.

Are we really going to do this EVERY time we lose? Are you going to get on here every time the Vols lose and whine, b$&@%, and moan and demand that coaches be fired and scholarships be revoked? Honestly, it makes us as a fanbase look pathetic. We sound like Kitty (Kentucky) basketball fans and Slimy Reptile football fans.

It is no secret that this loss is going to hurt for a while. However, whining about it isn't going to make our team better. Yanking Skylar's scholarship isn't going to help us win. Firing the man who resurrected Tennessee basketball is surely not going to help either. We have no power over what happens with our team, so we must leave it to Coach Pearl (and no one else, mind you) and the staff to take that team back to the gym and make the next practices before the next game absolute HELL in regards to overall toughness, defense, outside shooting, and free throws. The season is NOT over yet. No need to pack it in.

Until the season ends, or until Hamilton decides to make a move, I don't want to hear anymore whining and crying. We've got more games to play. We are Tennessee.

15-10... that isn't good if you haven't noticed. No timeout on the last possession... sorry, bball iq

I love threads like these. Keeps me in check, thank god you were here. By the way Pearl should have been fired the day he "came clean".

It hasn't been as stark a problem in years past, but probably just because it hasn't come down to the last shot as often as it has this year. We used to just win, so it didn't matter. Now that it does, it's clear we have no idea what the hell to do. It doesn't matter whether we're tied, down one, down two, or whatever, you can pretty much pencil in that we'll jack up a bad three as time expires.

And we've also had really good guys like Lofton, J Smith, T smith, Chism. Now we have to rely on juco's and freshmen

I'll be the first to admit that my memory fails me at times. Has this been an issue in years past? I don't remember it being a problem before this season.

Ever since Loften and JuJuan graduated. Go back and look and how many games we lost on the last possession in the '08/09 season. The most memorable, obviously, being the NCAAT game where Tyler Smith jacked up an ill-advised three (down two) at the buzzer. Also memorable, from last season, is Weezy shooting a three (down one) against Purdue.

It wasn't a problem when Tyler Smith hit winning shots against Ole Miss and Memphis, nor Lofton on multiple occasions. Unfortunately, we have a group now who just doesn't have that mental make up that allows them to be successful under pressure.

For every Memphis and Ole Miss game there has been a Purdue and Ohio State game.

The Purdue game was one of the single dumbest things I have ever seen. That's a glaring example of this staff's inability to call a final play. Hell, a lot of the stuff Lofton, T Smith, Bradshaw, etc. hit in the closing seconds weren't exactly examples of genius coaching, they just happened to actually put the ball in the hoop.

The way we have been losing these games has more to do with coaching than it does youth.

The novelty of different fonts /sizes went away with OE. Yours is nothing other than annoying.

But it took him a lot of soul searching to settle on that font man. Come on, cut RH some slack. Dude's avatar is badass too.

No. I am saying that while we should be frustrated, there comes a time when we need to take a step back and think about what we say before we say it. We also need to understand that the team has time (although not much) to correct mistakes and go through a series of serious gut-checks before the next game. Also, the constant blubbering over a loss is getting embarrassing. Be frustrated, but have a short memory.

This, and we need to give CBP time to fix this mess and I believe he will. It's ok to be mad over a loss especially last night when the refs helped the gators out at the foul line at a 20-10 clip. That's just ridiculous! CBP has made some mistakes and they were big mistakes but I think we need to still show him support through all of this. It's not like he was caught doing something to benefit himself , he was caught doing something that would have benefited UT. He has done everything possible to make this a better basketball program IMO he deserves to at least go out with the respect of the UT fanbase. This is all JMO tho. Flame away.

Huh? Hopson, Tatum? As I said, outside of Tatum's slump this year, they've both shot as well as Smith did. Did you purposely only read the first line just to make a sarcastic point?

We got a wide open look at the Purdue game and the Ohio State game would've gotten us a wide open layup had Chism been able to make his pick on Oden.

Who assembled this roster? I didn't realize that players were assigned to schools by random draw.

Yeah, nothing merits esteem like getting a program run over with the 'AA train as the result of being a lying phony. We should build a statue for him.

Irrelevant.

Not the way I see it. We have a lot of issues right now, but we have time to fix them. Getting pissed off and annoyed may be a natural reaction in the first few minutes of the game, but hours, days, and weeks after the fact is just plain ridiculous. We need to move on. That's my point.

Not sure you are a true Vol fan....seriously. The transition after to loss back to a state of calm can take 3-4 days, and a week of more to put it behind you.....sometimes the pain stacks up...like 2-3 losses in a row.

Don't preach this stuff...if you are a fan you know better.
