I'm more worried about how the O-Line will do. Doesn't matter what the receivers do if the qb doesn't have time.
Just heard a good interview with former NFL coach Jerry Glanville on Sports Animal. He said he came and spoke to the team. He mentioned a couple interesting things: (1) he talked about how when he coached at Georgia Tech they beat everybody except Tennessee and about how dominant they were; and (2) when watched the QBs in practice they were all getting rid of the ball extremely quickly by design.
Just a few quick facts from the rosters I saw.
USU Oline - Average weight = 289
UT Oline - Average weight = 308
USU WR's - Average 6ft 167lbs
UT WR's - Average 6'1" 200;bs
USU CB's Average 5'8" 179lbs
UT CB's Average 5'9" 190lbs
USU DL Average 269lbs
UT DL Average 308lbs
USU RB's = average 185lbs
UT RB's = average 197lbs
USU LB average = 227lbs
UT LB average = 226lbs
And for the hell of it their QB's = 193 pounds our QB's = 215
If the conditioning is as good or better than last year I don't see USU surviving 4 quarters just from sheer lack of size.
Worley played in a dink-dunk, quick throw offense in high school...and became the National Gatorade player of the Year. I believe this offense will give him a lot of opportunity to do the same....with much better receivers. These receivers will have HUGE YAC numbers in this game. USU's db's are in for long embarrassing day.
I'm not too worried about Keeton doing it alone. I think he is a ver, very good QB - but he's essentially the only talent returning on their offense.
