Immediate impact players (SIAP)

JUCO Lambert is likely a day 1 starter at SDE.

JUCO Weatherd is likely a day 1 starter at SLB.

FR Gaulden could see some time at nickel but, if Riyahd Jones and Mike Williams are healthy I see one of them taking Coleman's spot and Coleman moving to Nickel. Other provides depth.

I think Pearson will see more time than Malone would. With Malone as a FR, there is no reason to not RS him given UT will have:

North/Croom/Howard/Johnson/Pearson/Young.

Hurd could see a lot of work. Lane will likely be the undisputed #1 but I don't think the staff will overwork Lane.

 top 20 talent don't sit.

I think we will see a completely different field next year. I, for some reason, have a good feeling about Paul Harris and Ryan Jenkins contributing significantly next year. Kelly and Mcdowell will likely compete for spots with coleman and mcneill.

Has anyone thought that maybe CBJ wants to redshirt Hurd and have one of the other backs step up like Smith, Hill, or even Pickett? Not saying Hurd won't play but redshirting him might make some sense.

Wait,,,,,,,,,what?

I doubt if Jones will ever play again because of health problems.

I'm not saying he'd outright sit I just don't think he'd do enough to usurp the current WRs.

Not to mention 4* Drae Bowles (same year as Croom/Howard) or 4* Ryan Jenkins (same year as North) could have a tremendous off-season and see time.

He could, though. He's enormously gifted. If he does, that just shows how good he is.

Jenkins will be a really good player for us.

Of the current commits, or expected commits (i.e. Mosley and Malone), which players are expected to have the most immediate impact next year. Thanks, I'll hang up and listen.

Jucos.. hope outside those the freshman can be eased in and not dependent on. Would have better chance at bowl game

We need to start a VN pool as to which player that isn't really expected to contribute next year turns out to be the next Cam Sutton. Whom will it be that surprises us?

Im hoping to be surprised, like we did when CP came out of nowhere last season('12).

Maybe it's just me, but I was way more impressed with Neal's work this year. I like Lane, but I feel that he's more of a "gotta get 2 yards" kind of RB. Maybe I'm missing something, but I haven't seen proof in the Lane > Neal comments. Not saying you're saying that... But, it's been said.

IMO... Save Lane for 3rd and short packages. To me he just doesn't seem to find the lane between the tackles as much as he should.

He's a great player that should be used in the situations that best fit his ability.

I sure did have expectations for Bowles. What's happened with him?

I think Jalen Reeves-Maybin really contributes on defense next year. He was our best special teams player this year (sans Palardy) and I really think he steps up on D next year.

He just got lost in the wash. Some guys pick it up sooner than others. This year was a great year for him to try to push himself to the front but he didn't.

Maybe he does next year, only the off-season will tell.

Hurd, Blair and Pearson. I see Malone getting alot of playing time, but Pearson and North are gonna start on the outside.

Do you really think Malone will come here if he is gonna be redshirted? Smh.

Malone would never sign with UT if the staff tells him he may redshirt. Immediate playing time is one of, if not the no. 1, of his main priorities.

Hurd, Gaulden, Wharton (kick and punt return), Weathered, Williams, Blair, Lambert, Pearson, and Malone if he commits.

I don't think any of our WR recruits, including Malone, will have an immediate impact. WRs typically take a year to learn route running and timing.

Dillon Bates - He is going to get some PT and will have an impact in some places. Especially if AJ leaves (though he doesn't need to)

As previously said
JUCO Lambert is likely a day 1 starter at SDE.

JUCO Weatherd is likely a day 1 starter at SLB.

Daniel Helm is going to geting a lot of work at TE. IMO this guy is going to be a HUGE impact for us this year. Possibly one of the biggest if not the biggest.

Jalen Hurd - Well, this one is obvious

Todd Kelly - I am hoping he can come in and be our Sutton of this year and really impress as a freshman

Malone - He is going to impact games by not even catching the ball. He will get enough attention to help get North open if he isn't open himself.

Obviously, I want all to make an impact, but I hope the top 3 surprises for an immediate impact are

1. Vic Wharton
2.Evan/Elliot Berry
3.Aaron Medley - kinda don't think he will start at Kicker. Just a guess

I expect all the JC players will play early we are recruiting them to fill present holes. I think Hurd will also play and may even start by mid-season. The kicker we recruited should win the job from day one. Josh Malone and Blair are starters JMO. I also seee Todd Kelly Jr. taking the safety job from McNeil.
