Impending Prospect Commitment Predictions....

Yes, but I would bet the UT coaches are still in his ear and believe they can turn him.

Why would they want Brunetti over Rettig? For our offense Rettig is better. I mean I would take Brunetti but I would think he is not getting many calls that is why he committed to WV. JMO

He has been getting a lot of calls from the Vols. He holds a written UT offer. I think the coaches like Brunetti better than they do Rettig. Rettig may never develop into a great QB. Brunetti is already halfway there.

Even if he is 5' 10''? And they both have an offer. I would guess if Brunetti was not from TN he would not. But yes I am just guessing just a feeling. I have no proof lol.

WTF is the problem picking up a Fn QB?? jesus, hire a new QB coach or do something. We have a superbly talented existing team on an upward trajectory program-wise, exceptional coaches with the ability and experience to prep for NFL draft status better than 99% of all other programs, an amazing recruiting class coming in next year, top ten class last year including the #1 offensive player nationally, offers the opportunity to play in THE premier and most recognized/televised conference in the country, with the third largest stadium nationally, at one of the winningest programs in history, state-of-the-art facilities second to none, and the most rabid fan base in the universe!!!!!

I dont like feeling desperate to get a d$%^ 4 star USC lean which may cause the rest of our offensive recruiting to suffer when he commits to a school where he'll be lucky to break the depth chart for at least 2 years! Is this UTK or MTSU here or what??

All I can pray is that JS is announcing on ESPN to "help recruiting for the school" because he is picking UT and knows we need some wide receivers for him to throw to. Retting would be a fool not to go to UT if JS doesnt. I mean on top of all listed above, whomever finally accepts the offer is practically guaranteed IMMEDIATE PLAYING TIME IN THE SEC!

Im tired of this garbage. We are suppose to be an elite program!! We shouldnt have to be begging for a decent QB to come here!!!

Its just frustrating when you see so many pieces coming together perfectly but, the center-piece of this rebuilding project continues to remain elusive.

If Lamaison can come in this summer and play next season, why is he holding out? Read this on govols this am.

Breathe, switch to decaf, and step away from the key board.:) I think most vol fans would agree w/ you, but we must be patient. Scroggins is making his decision soon. Whatever he decides I think we'll have a QB signed very soon after even if he chooses USC. I have a feeling, regardless of which QB we pick up, this class will look a lot better come NSD than it may presently.

So, does he come regardless or less likely if JS or CR choose UT? In your opinion, anyway.. At least we got a top kicker. Been spoiled with these for a while here thanks to the Colquit clan, tend to forget their value during recruiting season. Gran has to be one of the best hires on this staff hands down, IMO.

We haven't been an elite program for a while. And considering the guy is considering the defending national champions, and the best team by far on the west coast, I'd say we're in pretty good company.

Now if we miss Scroggins and miss Rettig to BC, then I'll have some problems.

Very, very true. You can never underestimate the value of a good kicking game, especially in a conference like the SEC where so many games come down to a few points. Think back the past few yrs(SC, Vandy, etc.). How many games have we won/lost on last second made/missed FGs. Just like that All-State commercial, everybody forgets about the kicker til you really need him.

Dude, we played in the SECCG 2 years ago. That is an elite program regardless of one down year. I agree we were sliding under Fulmer until his ouster but, no one that has to play us has ever written us off as a cake program regardless of it being a losing season or not.

Everyone knows we didn't deserve to be there. We lucked into it.

And I didn't call us a cake program, I just said we aren't elite.

You want elite? Look at USC, UF, OSU, Texas, OU, ..etc

I agree in general though about being in good company competing for recruits with the defending national champs and anytime you give a juggernaut like USC a run for their money for a recruit, that says a lot as well.

Yeah, we have won so many games in the last few years pretty much because of stout defense and a good kicking game. Kicker was a concern of mine early on this year for sure. We will continue to be disappointed in these recruiting races for top receivers and OL until we have a talented QB waiting in the wings though. These are the areas we need some serious talent developing in before we have any hope of competing for a NC. Just hate to have to wait another year before this is handled.

Yeah, I agree but, by golly we got there!! Honestly, I think of all SEC teams ranked in the top 3 of their respective division as fairly elite though.
