Don't quote me but something to the affect of. Marijuana is a dangerous drug and I am opposed to the legalization. Funny thing is, the email was a detailed description of a senate bill for the safe access to medical cannibas. It is a legite bill. He gave a one line response as if my buddy was a doobhead who's letter read; "Dear Mr haslam, I like smokin doobies so weed should be legal" Completely blew him off and cleary didn't read the full email, hence the knee-jerk, SAY NO.. response. D-bag in my book.

Did he send it to his office, his campaign, or does your friend have his personal email address?

In other words, why give the answer away on the thread starter. Check the thread out to see who Bruce endorsed as gov.

Ok, that's fine and all, but your thread title doesn't make any sense.

"In Bruce He Endorsed For Gov" is in no way a coherent sentence. That's what's so confusing here.

In Bruce? What is that?

Haslam was a County Mayor. He wouldn't have any pull in a 'medical marijuana' deal, and I think as far as political ambitions go, him coming right out and saying no was the smart move.

It's based from the "In Bruce We Trust" theme used during basketball season. The thread title is a paraody (sp) of it.

He answered as if he were responding to a no deoderant wearing, dreadlock sporting, phish listening hippy. It was a legit email that at the very least should have gotten an admission that he wasn't involved in that segment and was not familiar with it. He responded like an arse,

It is not illegal for a state employee to participate in efforts for a candidate or endorse a candidate as long as they are doing so on their own time, not during work hours.

Unless you are from the UK, saying arse makes one look like an ass.

BTW I am in full support of decriminalization federally, but that is because I believe the federal police state has no constitutional basis for existence. People should be able to smoke pot or not depending on what the police powers in their local and state government have decided.

The BATF is a debacle that should be dismantled.

I am now fully supporting Haslam. Was a Wamp supporter until today.

Wamp has never admitted the selling on the record, but has a conversion story post rehab. My feeling is that no one should be voted into federal office or be a top choice to work as a federal employee if they are guilty of a felony (even if they were not charged and convicted of such). It would mean that our current President and his predecessor would never have held the office.

I want some Eagle Scouts who were laughed at for being too moral to take a turn. I am tired of partiers who through various benefits (family, affirmative action) get ahead of those who are their betters in a meritocracy.

My understanding is that he does have a conviction. It probably has been expunged, however.

This is all just really great to know. So, I find your articles fascinating and would really love to hear your take on religion, as well...
