In games Barton scores 13 or more points...

How about feed Stokes every single play, and when he gets trapped kicks it out to either Richardson, Jordy Mac, or Barton for a wide open three... Barton seems to be fairly good at wide open threes

we should be sprinting over halfcourt and feeding it to Stokes as he has good position before the D gets set within 10 seconds of the shot clock.
We get in rhythm that way and guys play with confidence and an attack mentality. Plus, it opens up the inside out game or quick cutter and we will hit more shots when playing the proper attacking offense.
That's been the gameplan in some of our best performances this year.
People think pace means don't go down low and just run and gun. It means be quick and attack early. Feed Stokes and attack early, rather than late where a double team causes trouble.

Barton went 0-1 with 0 points against WSU, 0-8 against NCST, 0-4 vs UK, 0-7 vs Mizzou, 0-5 vs TAMU

Believe me I know. Go check out Trae's stats over the last month.

Barton is streaky but doesn't sulk and is a better defender. Give me Barton all day.

Maybe it's not Barton or Golden. Just maybe it's the coach.

There has always been a disconnect between CM and any pg on the floor since he has been here. He wants them to be aggressive, yet takes the ball out of their hands asap in the offense and benches them when they don't make something happen.

I don't dislike Maymon, but he's not the guy to complement Stokes. We should have an //active '6'10 guy// who can run the floor, rebound and cause problems for opponents in the paint--THE Big who isn't great but who has enough size and athleticism to noticeably contribute to success--say, 7 points and 6 rebounds in, say, 18 + minutes of playing time and takes some pressure off your scoring forwards. Tom Izzo of Mich. State always seems to have such a guy--so do a LOT of teams. Why do we almost NEVER have that guy? I was watching some video of some of one of the Dale Ellis UT teams--made the tourney for four straight years, I believe. Those teams had a center like that.

UT's issue is that we've got only two good players--and after that a bunch of blah. Everyone else is utterly mediocre. We get a bit from barton, richardson and maymon, but only a bit. We should have an active 6'10 guy playing with Stokes--and the staff should have been smart enough to see that. And we simply aren't good enough on the perimeter/backcourt. After McRae, our guards/perimeter guys are pretty pedestrian. You need more than two players to make some noise.
