I don't mean this to be ugly at all...but it's funny that they would do this because politicians (both Democrats and Republicans) will stop at nothing to get their point across. But it's sad that they used that horrible picture to make their point.

Why? We know where he is yes, but in order to get him we would start a multi national incident and create a whole new problem. I want him as much as the next guy but we have to work the channels and networks we have. We are extended enough and can't afford to broaden our battlefields with Afghanistan revamping their efforts there and Iran looming on the horizon.

That's a fine stance and I can understand/support it.

But it's playing boths sides of the fence to rail on one party for "letting the terroists go" and support another party for not catching public enemy number 1 under the guise of complicated channels and networks involved.

"The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him."
- G.W. Bush, 9/13/01

"I want justice...There's an old poster out West, as I recall, that said, 'Wanted: Dead or Alive,'"
- G.W. Bush, 9/17/01, UPI

"...Secondly, he is not escaping us. This is a guy, who, three months ago, was in control of a county [sic]. Now he's maybe in control of a cave. He's on the run. Listen, a while ago I said to the American people, our objective is more than bin Laden. But one of the things for certain is we're going to get him running and keep him running, and bring him to justice. And that's what's happening. He's on the run, if he's running at all. So we don't know whether he's in cave with the door shut, or a cave with the door open -- we just don't know...."
- Bush, in remarks in a Press Availablity with the Press Travel Pool,
The Prairie Chapel Ranch, Crawford TX, 12/28/01, as reported on
official White House site

"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."
- G.W. Bush, 3/13/02

"I am truly not that concerned about him."
- G.W. Bush, repsonding to a question about bin Laden's whereabouts,
3/13/02 (The New American, 4/8/02)

i don't agree w/ the billboard, but don't you think it's interesting that Clinton let the hijackers go?

Also don't you think it's weird that Oliver North told Al Gore and others about Bin Laden, and Gore laughed at him?

Just as that has been said so has the story that Clinton's administration warned Bush and Condie Rice of Bin Laden and they ignored the warning. I don't think 9/11 should be blamed on either administration. As far as Gore laughing at North, well according to Snopes.com that is false.

but you libs want convicts, illegals and dead people to vote. sometimes the truth is a bitter pill to swallow.

Cause all of us should be lumped together? I forget you conservatives never do anything shady. :ermm:

While I don't blame it on all libs there is a segment that wants to see illegals given rights to vote, not taking into account the toll it has and will continue to have on America. I do agree though you must be very careful not to lump everyone in a particular party or what have you together. It only serves to divide and makes it harder to address the problems in the long run. For anything to ever get done we need both parties on the same page working toward a common goal.

the shady we stuff we do keep America safer.

Yeah keep america safer and maybe we can have the Democrats bill passed for healthcare..........
And that way if you make 100,000 a year then after all your taxes and everything you pay to make up for free healthcare for everyone then you actually clear 40,000.

But hey you keep makin America Safer........

Oliver North's problem as a source of intelligence or national security advice is that he was totally discredited earlier and, as a consequence, was not going to be taken seriously.

On the other hand, I can still see the image of Condaleeza Rice testifying to Congress and saying that the Bush administration was not told in security briefings that there was a threat of Al-Qaeda striking in the U.S., only one minute later to be confronted with the briefing paper entitled "Al-Qaeda determined to strike in the U.S."

That was a lawyer's dream for cross-examination.

I would think that Bill Clinton claiming he couldn't do anything with Osama and offered him to the Saudi's would seem a little worse. Funny how those 8 years seem to not be important.

Oh, I get it, your party can break the law, do what ever you want but heaven forbid a lib do it or you call them out. My point was not to stand up for the left on this but to say it's politics, be fair, they both do the same things, use the same tricks. Hypocrisy 101.

we could start with the 4th amendment. Whether it has been used against me is irrelevant

And the specific right you and I have lost outlined there would be? I mean a judge still has to agree to the search doesn't he?

In my view all that has been done there PJ is to make the reaction time quicker when a perceived threat or a person of interest has been identified. Instead of it taking days it can now be done in a matter of hours. The process has been streamlined but essentially it is still the same.
