My ex roommate is a sec line judge . I’ve complained to him for ten years about the holding. When Barnett was here he would avoid my phone calls because he knew what I was going to say or show him. Finally he gave me straight answer I had been wanting. They could call holding every play. They are told if it doesn’t affect the play to not call it. Sounds crazy but I almost believe him. My problem is the no calls not the actual holding calls.IF the Officials done their jobs correctly. There would be a penalty on either side of the ball on almost every play.
Officials pick&Choose when they throw the flag, it's been that way for 40 years or more.
Yet they call them 20 yards away from the play when we play. Meanwhile, Alabama has a guy in a head lock or by the jersey a step away from the quarterback and they call nothing. My ex roommate is a sec line judge . The worst call of the game was the spot on the QB sneak..we definitely got away with one on the hold but Bama got away with some too.Feel free to provide one of the 3 large uncalled Holdings against us in critical spots in this game. I'm going to keep posting it, because the idea that we were anywhere close to being wrong on that play is just...wrong.He times it perfectly to the millisecond…as the ball started to think about moving he was in the perfect position.
Watch from exactly 2:31:54. The OT flinches first, Pearce goes, OT starts moving all the way early. It's super clear that Pearce was keying on the OT. The idiot announcing crew and the "rules official" that chose to cover for Bama every single time apparently couldn't even see it in slowmo.

I watched it 10 times. I do not see the Bama tackle move before Pearce. I also do not see the ball being snapped before Pearce enters the neutral zone. My eyes see Pearce offsides. My eyes also see Pearce held on the play which also went uncalled. I'm fairly certain you cannot as an offensive tackle reach from behind and grab the DE as this guy does with his left arm. All that to say this crew threw a ton of flags some for penalties that never occurred, but they also missed a lot. I'm just happy that for once Bama didn't get all the breaks. This crew also suffered severely to spot the ball correctly. Not just the QB sneak but they missed Bama guys clearly stepping out of bounds multiple times that replay had to reverse. The refs played as sloppy as both teams did IMO.I'm going to keep posting it, because the idea that we were anywhere close to being wrong on that play is just...wrong.
Then I suppose you're blind. It's visible clear as day in the slowmo replay at the exact mark I mentioned.I watched it 10 times. I do not see the Bama tackle move before Pearce. He starts falling backwards, which is what triggered Pearce to go. He also didn't make it over the line.It is VERY VERY clear that 57 shifted, THEN Pearce moves forward. It was either a good no-call, or a false start.
I'm not sure if human eyes can detect that short of an interval, but upon review there was NOTHING wrong with that call.
I watched it 2 more times. I finally saw it. It was easier for me to see in the second replay. Kudos to you for spotting that. And yes I am about blind with or without my contacts so no offense taken! Then I suppose you're blind. It's visible clear as day in the slowmo replay at the exact mark I mentioned.
