As everyone knows, Florida lost a lot of their 11-2 team. Their Offense is returning 6/11 starters and their Defense is only returning 3/11 starters from last year.

However, in their preseason/Spring depth chart they've lost an additional 5 starters for the 2013 season due to various injuries. All of these were predicted starters. The bold names are returning starters.

MLB Morrison - suspended due to arrests. It's Florida, arrests don't matter.

RG Halapio - torn pectoral. Should be back for season but losing Fall Camp time. Can't get cleared for at least another full week at best.

LG Garcia - back. He should be in playing shape, but back injuries take a long time to heal and rigors of football don't allow much healing time.

QB Driskel - emergency appendectomy. Will miss multiple weeks of camp at best.

RB Matt Jones - severe viral infection. This was just announced. No specifics but it sounds like it could be very bad for him.

Won't matter. This stuff happens every year and they always find a way to win. Injuries do not affect the Gators like they do most teams.

Would rather beat them at full strength, but its never a bad thing when a rival has issues with predicted starters

Jesus, Wait until the first CBS game Florida plays. Verne will talk about Driskel's appendectomy 70%-80% of the time he does anything and 100% if he throws a touchdown. I hate Lundquist......

I'm not aware of anyone who will be out for the first game other than by suspension

I did mistype when I said "lose for 2013 season" when I meant "2013 Fall Camp" But their specifics are all noted below that.

However, they are missing crucial Fall Camp time. Even if both Gs and the QB are cleared, they'll still likely have nagging problems through the year.

This many injuries going into Fall Camp, especially for a team that is returning so few starters is not a good thing.

Not concerned.

An appendix removal is not a nagging injury

I think you'll be pleasantly disappointed with UF's defense, in spite of who we lost last season.

Good thing UT didn't lose any key players from last season...

Don't try to discount losing 8 players on your defense as no big deal.

Don't discount having 2 of your 6 returning Offensive starters and 4 total predicted starters not active for the start of Fall camp.

Unless you think both Gs, the QB and the RB aren't a big deal to a power running team.

it wont matter who the gators lose if we cant get the running game going we wont win or even make it close the team with the most rushing yards and fewer turnovers will win thats how its always been vs fla ut hasnt ran the ball good since the 2004 game

It's not a big deal, I don't know how else to say it.

Other than the safety position, I have no worries about UF's defense.

Our offense on the other hand...
