Injuries piling up for Florida

Don't try to discount losing 8 players on your defense as no big deal.

Don't discount having 2 of your 6 returning Offensive starters and 4 total predicted starters not active for the start of Fall camp.

Unless you think both Gs, the QB and the RB aren't a big deal to a power running team.

The guy they won't replace defensively is Elam. Other than that, they will be fine.

And with the new sec rules, Elam would have been suspended every game anyway. It's illegal to hit people hard now

I have a feeling all of these guys will be ready By the time we play them. However, will take a W in this game any way I can get it. Florida always plays their best against us, we are due a break.

It's not a big deal, I don't know how else to say it.

Other than the safety position, I have no worries about UF's defense.

Our offense on the other hand...

Muschamp always recruits heavy on the defensive side of the ball and for some reason neglects the offensive side of the ball. Seems like I mentioned this last year.

So you think replacing both DTs and all 3 LBs is going to go smoothly? Bear in mind, using 247 rankings... you're replacing 2 5* and 1 4* LBs with 1 4* and 2 3*. You're replacing, what, top 3/4 Sack, Top 4/5 Tacklers and top 3/4 Int leaders? That's a lot of production to have to replace.

But this wasn't really about your Defense so much as it was your Offense. That's a lot of key players on O that aren't getting reps in Fall Camp... even if they are "healthy" by the start of the season.

I don't know what to tell you.

Jelani Jenkins was hurt a lot last year and so Morrison played a lot. As did the other starting lb's for this season.

They will play 8 or more d lineman. All of them have played.

When I say "played", I'm talking meaningful playing time.

They have more corners than they know what to do with.

And beyond all else, I won't make too many definitive statements about will muschamp, but one of them is that he can seriously coach defense.

As far as the offense goes, there isn't one of those guys who anyone believes will not be on the field for week 1

The gators should thank you for the reality check ! :birgits_giggle:

All these injuries and yet Muchamp seems calm, cool and collected about it! :)

That's the one thing you guys have ample amounts of. Everything else, it looks rather sparse to be honest.

Additionally, since you didn't address it I'll ask directly:

Is having both Guards, QB and RB missing at least 25% of Fall Camp not worrisome? Considering you guys are a ball-control Power Run offense... you're missing 3 very crucial elements.

Also, I don't see you guys replacing Sharrif Floyd easily but that's just me.

No, I am not concerned.

They can fail. They can lose.

But, I don't think any if this will have been a factor

They are thin at lb. backups are still babies.

But depth is fine elsewhere

What happened to that thread about praying for the health and safety of all our opponents?

So the Driskel/Jones/OG news hasn't changed your outlook on the UF season at all? I'm guressing you were expecting a crap offense and losing camp time from 4 members of a crap offense isn't going to make it any more or less crappy?

What is your prediction for your season?

I'm asking legitimately, no baiting... just good conversation.

When Driskel tweeted he was bored this off season, OC, Brent Pease suggested he go study some film. It will be interesting in year two of Pease system if he has more moving parts to run. And did his QB do what he was told?

This thread should be renamed "Calling all trolls! Calling all trolls!"

Nonetheless, we should never be excited about injuries to an opposing team. These are still young kids with a lot of potential regardless of whatever team they play for. Personally, I would rather beat a 100% Florida than a 75% Florida, but thats just me.

I think the offense will improve to average.

Defense will be strong but not quite as strong as last year.

I think they go 10-2 and win the east

I think you're confused. This is pointing out key injuries that are causing these players to miss crucial time in Fall Camp, not celebrating them. As I pointed out in my original post, and other Gator fans have also pointed out.. all of these players are expected to be cleared (though maybe not 100%) to play Game 1.

This, to me, is the same as discussing Brian Randolph or Curt Maggitt's health in relation to how they could practice then in the Spring and now in the Fall.

Just because it's a rival doesn't mean it was done with vitriol. Nobody was celebrating, nor wishing for, an injury or ailment that I have seen.
