I knew he was injured badly, but never until last week realized he nearly died. Incredible young man, all VOL. Love his recruitment story too.Thinking of getting him to speak at one of my company's events.

From the look on the players' faces, they might have thought a few of Inky's lines were over the top.

Inky spoke at my son's school yesterday. Was a very inspiring moment for the kids, took a picture with my boy and took a few minutes to talk to him was pretty cool.
Very impressive individual. His dedication and spirit brought a tear to my eye.

After watching this video, I thought about something that I heard Jayson Swain say on his radio show. Swain said that he was going to actively talk to Coach Jones about making Inky's #29 a sacred or special number that, at the end of camp, would be awarded to the player that possessed the most heart and leadership skills. He mentioned making #29 a reward...something special to drive the players to step up and be leaders and play with heart. (much like LSU does with #18. i think other schools do it as well) He even mentioned having a small ceremony where Inky actually awarded the number to the player. Swain also went on to say that it would be great to do it while inky is a young guy and can spend time with the team and help mentor them. I honestly loved the idea. I hope volnation gets behind swain's idea. To me, it is the most VFL thing you could possibly do. Eric Berry even wears 29 in honor of Inky. Thoughts??

They'll mature enough to get it one of these days.

Maybe I heard him wrong. Didn't he start by saying that he almost lost his life, and if he could change what happened to him he wouldn't? I think he lost the team at that point, because everybody would change it if they could. They didn't want that to happen to him, and they don't want to end up like that. Inky needs to tweek his message, imo.

From what I have read, Inky tried coaching as a GA under Kiffin and it took up too much of his time. He is a family man and also makes a good living from his book and motivational speaking engagments. If he wanted to work for the program, they would find him a job.
