Insane stat from Saturday

Bama could have scored way more in the first half too, can't talk about the score without our missed opportunities and not give them credit for theirs as well.

Ridiculous take. First half could have also been a 3 score deficit in favor of Bama. This is definitely a weakened Bama team but this was a tightly contested game throughout. Bama led deep into the 4th quarter.
We fumbled and later threw an interception deep in Alabama territory on drives where we were moving the ball at will. We had 3 or 4 plays where a receiver was running wide open behind the defense and Nico just overthrew him. We kicked a field goal on a 4th and 3 that we may well have picked up and went on to score.

Alabama had near misses too, sure, but not nearly as many as we did. If they had hit theirs and we had hit ours we would have won by 3 touchdowns or more. Our defense dominated their offense. Our offense stopped itself.

This board wanted both fired in August.
Some of the less objective posters did, but I think there were a lot of us that thought Banks was doing a great job with the players he had. I do admit that I thought Martinez should have been replaced and I may have been wrong about that.

This was a Saban assembled, groomed and manicured Alabama team, particularly the true freshmen on the field he signed in the early signing period, but Saban was in Austin not in Knoxville, such that the excellence and the intensity you usually see operated by the crimson helmets was not there either.

So could we...Fumble on first possession driving deep into Bama territory...Nico overthrew receivers that were 5 yards in front of Bama defenders...So game could have been blowout with better execution.

After Bama's last touchdown, their last 4 possessions resulted in 3 total yards and 0 first downs!! I knew the defense locked it down, but that is just unreal!!

There was another crazy stat about third down conversions. They went something like the last half or the last 3 quarters without converting a third down against our defense. I can’t remember which it was.
