iPhone X

Yea, Apple is ditching the X.

Not likely. Reports are they are ditching the X and number label for lastest gen. Think how they don’t keep calling iPad the 3,4,5 ect. It’s just iPad and iPad Pro. They will just call it iPhone and iPhone Plus. Maybe the SE hangs around. The form factor of the X is the way the phone is going though. And everyone else will copy it.

I have the X and glad I got it. I’m not as crazy about what their plan is for the next iteration

They’re not going to ditch the home button. Unless they want to kill the iPhone, which doesn’t seem likely.

It's easy to get used to so if they decide to fully get rid of the home button it won't be the end of the iPhone.

Man it really only takes like 30seconds to get used to. Apple doesn’t go backwards with decisions like that.

The X has suffered from one major flaw... price. I would say the minority of people that passed on the X this year did so based on the home button. I upgraded my wife for Valentine’s Day and my decision was based primarily on storage value. She had a 64GB 6S and was constantly battling with storage. Why pay $1000 for a 64GB phone when you can pay $750 for 256GB?

I don’t really know the price difference in all the models. I typically just get whichever one I like. I change so often I’m not even sure what mine is called now. I think it’s the 8+, but it could be an 8S+ if that’s even a thing. I just know I’m not buying the one without the home button.

I’m telling you... unless you are just completely tech inept you won’t miss the home button.

Despite all the stories about how X sales have underperformed it was still the top selling smartphone in the first Q of 2018.

That says more about the state of the smartphone market than the X.

It’s because they’ve hit a wall on the tech side. There’s nothing more I need my iPhone 8+ to do. Many folks are still using 6 and 7’s because they don’t see a huge improvement in the new models.

I think more people will start spending money on different things once the phone tech totally stalls.

Definitely. The average consumer doesn’t care about geeky processor or camera benchmarks. They just want the phone to work and maybe take same nice pictures.

And the differences between the platforms are mostly cosmetic at this point too.

That was exactly my logic a couple of weeks ago when I went from a 6+ to an 8+.

I love my iPhone X. It’s seriosuly the best phone I’ve had and I’ve had them all.

Perfect size. Excellent performance. Camera is phenomenal. Don’t have anything negative at all to say about it.

What did everyone think of WWDC?

Anyone got 32 people they want FaceTime with?

Impressive iOS12 will be supported all the way back to the 5s. That will be six years of devices.

After using the X for a while now, I don't miss the home button at all. I think its donezo

3D Touch is absolute $hit anyways. And I don’t believe these are the only iPhones releasing. They’ll be others with the home button.

I didn’t like it at first but I use 3D Touch quite often these days.

I'm really happy with the size of the iPhone X. Don't know if I could go back to an iPhone Plus

I like the narrower design of the X over the Plus. The plus version this year sounds pretty nasty though. Tough decision.

I like 3D Touch quite a bit. It’s underutilized by developers in the UI if you ask me. That is partly Apples fault for not pushing it across all devices though.

Apple does that with a lot of their programs. Right now it's the VR (for the X) that's being heavily underutilized

I was seeing advertisements everywhere for the P20 pro in Peru. I'm digging the triple camera if it's similar
