iPhone X

That doesn’t sound like they are not going to make an X model. You just won’t be able to get last years version at a reduced price like they have done in the past. The design of X is the way going forward. By 2020 the model design of the 6-7-8 will be the new SE.

They did the same thing with the Watch Series 2 when the Series 3 came out because the difference between the non-cell S3 was minimal to the S2. They didn’t want people just buying the S2 to save $50 so it was “discontinued”. But you can still buy the “lower end” S1 which is missing a few key features like water resistance and wi-if.

They’ll lose half of their fan base if they ditch the home button.

No they won’t.

My 68 year old mother got one. If she can adapt I’m sure anyone under 45 will have no problem. All you do is swipe up from the bottom to get to the home screen. And as someone pointed out. You can ad a virtual one if you are really struggling.

I was skeptical but I got used to it almost immediately. Really glad I went w the X. And if they do cancel, I’m glad I got it based on rumors they will size the next model up

I could have gotten the X but got the 8+ instead. They’re not going to ditch the home button.

A couple of pics of samsungs new phone leaked today. Cosmetically, very similar to the previous model. Appears facial recognition will replace the fingerprint sensor. Release is reportedly Feb 25. Price not announced but if you have to ask....

As for me, I'll keep my $150 moto and take the difference in single malt and bourbon. ;)

:good!: Gotta $99.00 MotoE. 3 years old and still works fine. What a deal.

Apparently there have been a lot of issues with the ability to answer calls on the X.

I have yet to have an issue (knock on wood)

What kind of issues? I haven’t noticed any issues in my end either, fortunately.

I’m looking to upgrade. Can’t decide between the 8plus or the X.

The specs say it has a slightly bigger screen(X) but per the eye test it doesn’t appear to.

Any suggestions and or opinions would be appreciated.

I went with the 8+. I prefer a home button.

You can get more storage from the 8 Plus for less money. Form factor is bigger for the pocket and hands though.

I’ve played with my mom’s X. I got used to lack of home button in about 30secs. Just swipe up from the bottom. Not a big deal at all. The bigger adjustment for me was accessing the control center from the top instead of the bottom.

I went with the X. Slightly bigger screen, slightly smaller phone. I had the 6s Plus before. Having a slightly smaller phone is much nicer. The lack of a home button took all of about 10 seconds to get used to

Got one of these yesterday and am enjoying it so far. Pretty used to not having the home button after a day. Had a 6 plus before this, huge camera upgrade.

I still have trouble getting used to closing out apps. Powering off is a little awkward too. Love the phone tho.
