Surely they are smarter than this.

Iran raised the prospect on Tuesday of sending military ships close to the United States' Atlantic coast, in what would be a major escalation of tensions between the long-standing adversaries.

"Like the arrogant powers that are present near our marine borders, we will also have a powerful presence close to American marine borders," the head of the Navy, Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said, according to the official IRNA news agency.

No need for CC, just have an attack sub follow a few thousand yards behind them. I wonder what they plan on doing? Mackerel Fishing?

Prior to the war? Mobile Bay as well, but that was during the war I think. Close runs make more sense when there is an actual conflict already being waged.

There are several British cemeteries that fly the Union Jack over them on Cape Hatteras for all the British sailors that washed up on the beach from these attacks. It was VERY common.

There is video footage taken from a German sub of New York Harbor.

Yes. This happened prior to the US' entry into WWII as well as during the war.

Obama would probably invite Mahmoud over for tea and crumpets to negotiate before he actually did anything aggressive.

No Obama fan here, but I think that he has proven that he is not a pacifist.:hi:

And that's true. It's why the uberloony left, of which he counted himself part, has turned on him somewhat. They won't ever vote any other way, but they've sniped at him quite a bit.
