That's the clear downside. Baitullah Mehsud was known for saying to keep the drone attacks coming, for every missile that was launched brought him 5 new recruits. He caught his missile in 2009 on the roof of his father-in-law's house.

The disruption of the current networks is worth it in my mind. Mehsud was suspected of having access to radiological material for a dirty bomb and was pretty serious about moving forward with obtaining/using it. True? We don't know...but that's a big problem if it is true. Keeping the pressure on the terrorists in this region will keep us safer for now, but I don't know what that means for the long term. What I do now is that taking our foot off the gas doesn't make us safer now, and I personally don't think it would make us safer into the future either. They won't stop if we play nice.

I said that in more of a joking manner, but I will go down this road.

I dont think predator strikes are a complete solution but yes they are def part of the equation. These people plot to kill, mame, and destroy US citizens and others without any regard to even their own people. This is why terrorist orgs such as AQ have been losing some clout as of late. There def has to be violence against this enemy in order to bolster a broad solution that includes these tactics among other things...such as diplomacy, multi-lateral talks, and the sort.
