Iron Fist (Netflix)

After 3 episodes, I'm still waiting to see all this awfulness the critics said. Though I will say Episode 3 was my least favorite so far and Rand was more annoying, but Carrie-Anne Moss showing up was great.

I finished it last night. I thought Iron Fist was gonna be a badass? Should have named it Iron Pu**y.

I gave up on that show. But about this...

Since Rosario Dawson is on here, i assume Daredevil exists in this universe? Why not just get him to help fight The Hand?

That wasn't really a serious question by the way. Maybe a little.

Giving up on Jessica Jones was a mistake.

Great show. Best villain in the MCU so far.

"You have more youtube views than that incredible green guy" has to be a Hulk reference right? Pretty damn random though.

I posted about this in the Jessica Jones thread. There has to be some kind of contractual rule about them mentioning the Avengers by name, since this is all set in the same world.

Within DD, JJ, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, they have mentioned Thor's hammer, "the big green guy", "the flag waiver" (which I assume is Cap America), and the battle of NY from the First Avengers.

But never mentioned the name of anyone of them.

Technically they did mention Iron Man in Luke Cage, Method Man mentioned him in his rap about LC, the part where he says something like "and Iron Man can't come save us."

There's been more chatter about crossing over the Netflix MCU into the films and Agents of SHIELD/The Inhumans. If they wanted to do it right, they'd have a Spider-man cameo/appearance in Daredevil and/or DD in a future Spider-man movie since SM and DD have teamed up a lot in the comics. Charlie Cox is the only one that has it in his contract about appearing as DD the MCU movies if needed.

Part of the problem is the movies and ABC shows have a much different tone than the Netflix MCU, which is darker and way more adult. So if DD appears in an MCU movie and is awesome and kids suddenly want more and want to watch the Netflix show, that's a rude awakening for parents.

Iron Fist isn't bad, way better than Jessica Jones or Luke Cage. Jones was awful awful. CAge wasn't too bad but trying to play some archaic harlem renaissance in a modern setting was a bit off.

Punisher will beat the socks off of all these shows I be though.

Not sure if mentioned but Iron Fist was the gay dude from Game of Thrones who made it too the last episode of the last season. The Asian girl was the other hot Sand Snake.

OMG, episode 4...

So I'm through 6 and a half episodes, and the first 6 episodes were what most reviewers had.

They are officially full of crap. This is nowhere near as bad as they claimed.

So by that do you mean the SERIES is not bad or just not terrible? Worth watching?

I'm only half-watching while I work on the computer, so take this review FWIW. The writing is not a selling point. So many overdone plot points and nothing really original about it, with some silliness sprinkled in.

That means you gotta leave it up to the action to save the show and the action is not very good (in the cases where I've attentively watched).

I don't think it's bad. If you like the other MCU Netflix shows then I think you'd like it enough.

It's nowhere near as good as DD and not as good as JJ, but at worst it's as good as LC and so far I think it's overall better.

I'll agree with them that Finn Jones is a pretty weak IF. He's not written particularly well and Jones has this weird way of acting where he shakes his head every time he talks. He also comes across too whiny and has a confused look on his face all the time. And it looks like he was put through some crash course on kung fu but he's not nearly good enough yet to protray some martial arts master. They didn't train him nearly long enough to pull off what he needs to. To my knowledge Charlie Cox wasn't some martial arts guy before DD but Jones makes him look like Bruce Lee (granted it's easier to use a stunt fighter since DD is in a mask, but still).

But even with all that, he's not terrible nor is he a lost cause. And the supporting cast is superb.

Lol, blaming Trump for it is silly. But I agree about the action, which I blame on them either not training him enough or simply not hiring an actor that is better at it than Jones.

I also think it's a great point that the showrunner is the same guy that was the showrunner on the last season of Dexter, which is one of the worst things ever. Assuming it gets a Season 2, that guy needs to be dumped.

Thanks. Was going to binge it anyway...less trepiditous now.

Loras Tyrell..that's gotta take some doing to see him as a manly bad ass.

Netflix wouldn't let me give the season 2 stars. I was hovering over 2 and it lit up 3. I had to hit 2 twice and then when I looked in my dash and saw it, the 2-stars hadn't saved. WTF. Stubborn MFers

Their system is jacked sometimes. I put something as 2 stars one time and later it popped up in my "Watch it Again" list and it had me rating as 4 stars. I don't remember what it was now.

2 episodes left and I get the bad reviews but it's not unwatchable. They have a poorly developed protagonist who is hard to root for and didn't develop the villain very well. Honestly I'm kind of cheering for The Hand.

Have seen the first 2 episodes. The girl (Ward's sister) is a terrible actress and I can't understand why Ward and his dad appear to be about the same age.

They actually kind of explain it; I mean about as well as most comic book non-sensical things get explained.

Well I've watched the first 4 episodes so far and it's really entertaining. Colleen's fights in the cage were a little cringe-worthy but other than that I have no complaints.

Just finished season 2. I think it was better than season one. I enjoyed season 1, but it wasn't great, this one seemed better put together to me. I'm not some comic book guru so I don't know how well it makes sense in normal story line, but to me it was entertaining. Just kinda left me with one wtf kinda feeling.

Damn that glowy fist gets around more than a bad STD
